This is a lot more simple than everyone thinks. He is literally a radio talk show host who is a [Former] Burnout driver giving general advice and building you up to be like how he was or is. Crash FM studio is literally on Big Surf Island. BP Remastered gives all of its players access to all of its dlc so everyone can see the studio is on that island. There isnt any dark backstory or anything like that. Its honestly more worth it to check the PCPD Special's radio feed than to theorize about this.

Burnout Paradise's graphics are surprisingly good for a 10 year old game. I remember the first time I played just a year or two ago I was a little shocked by how good it looked. Sort of makes you wonder exactly how the remaster will look.

Yeah now that the remaster is out, I also picked it up and the graphics do look pretty much the same. It seems to run a bit smoother, but really it's just the original game + DLC. It was only $40 and that's what they advertised it as so it wasn't a bad deal, but I really think they could've done more with it. Especially the soundtrack, I would've liked to see new music but it's all the same.

I got Burnout Paradise Remastered working on my new PC, and I left hints on, so I'm glad to actually hear Atomika again. I've been playing the game for years on my Xbox360, and I had hints turned off on that. As I've been playing, I've been taking note of what he says, and there are some pretty odd lines. I think the strangest thing I heard from him was when he made a comment about showtime mode. "I love how I can just crash my car from one side of the street to the other, and not get busted for it, but also be able to do it again whenever I want." I think that's what he said anyways. That really caught me off guard ngl. I've only played Burnout Paradise, but when it comes to Burnout lore, it seems the only bits of lore are strange and pretty dark. Man, I'm about to get into another lore rabbit hole I guess. From my gameplay experience he's both a radio show host and a regular street racer, since he makes comments about driving and what goes on in the city. But I keep music off when I play the game, so I also kinda feel like he's just a voice in the player's head. Every street racer in Paradise City is a damn lunatic, so it would make sense.

i mean the concept of paradise was that it was burnout 5, and you could essentially crash cars to the point where it was just car parts. so what i think happened was during that time period the player was crashed off of a mountain, killing him. and paradise is just a purgatory where nobody can actually die.

Burnout Paradise plays some creepy audio (as SFX, like a ticking time bomb.) when driving the Bikes, starting Burning/Midnight rides and starting Marked Man Offline. You also cannot see your character inside the car (bikes obviously has characters, watch gameplay) and you can see it more clearly if your car's windows are broken, however Superforge has found the shadow of the character when crashing in a specific area with a specific camera with a clean car.

Well, for no models in the cars, that's standard, it wasn't until the newr NFS games where we see the driver model, in the past, not habing a driver model is to save space, Split Second Velocity doesn't have a driver model ether, despite there being drivers driving the cars. The game's In-Game show is like a stunt show, where the driver bails out of their car and the car gets destroyed by power play attacks

But you can still hear him when you're using bikes or the F1 car. I think the fact that you can put your own music in the game, means; like in real life you can play your own music in your car, not much mystery there. It's more likely to change to the station every now and then to hear Dj Atomika than have the radio station in your own car and not hear your own motor through the speakers.

If you use the Atomika Disabler mod, you can pretend that he (or his localized counterparts) said a few words and then straight up left, and removing all pre-recorded messages. (After all, he hasn't done anything else over those 4 years or something. _Remastered_ has the same dialogue from the man, so he wouldn't be very truthful after being away for so long unless he at least made jabs at NFS Most Wanted 2012, Tri-City Bay having suspiciously similar-looking traffic cars to Paradise City's, the list goes on.) Then again, Grand Theft Auto III has radio stations like that if you wish to believe the setting is so dark that those stations essentially put a show on repeat.

I've heard some stuff about the lady in the beginning and different ideas of who she is. I didn't really pay much attention to it in this video, but I would say she probably fits into this theory possibly as someone who introduces you to DJ Atomica and Paradise City before you set out on your racing. Almost like a mutual friend that knows both of you and has both of you meet to cooperate on something. Possibly if your character supposed to have been a driver in previous Burnout games she might know you as a good driver and DJ Atomica as a DJ and be the reason your character and him collaborate.

Cool theory, but to have a good one you do have to take into account that there are no people anywhere on the map or in any vehicles including yours, so how can DJ Atomica be in the car with you when nobody is in it whatsoever. I personally think that for those people that had the glitch that made the voice weird and then all audio stop that possibly DJ Atomica and you are in possibly in some sort of bunker during an alien attack and what you see is a simulation that you are controlling as if you were in it because your mind physically is in the simulation (kinda like saints row IV) but it doesn't render a body and the scrambled audio is DJ Atomica's "last words" before getting either killed or dragged out by the aliens. To sum it all up: You are taking shelter in a bunker with DJ Atomica to hide from the aliens, you have been placed in a simulation as if it were real and I assume that DJ Atomica was good with computers and was doing this to you and then himself to escape so even if you were found and killed you would live in the simulation forever, and the scrambled message in the glitch was him as they were either trying to kill him or abduct him and that's why the audio stops completely a while after that and you are doomed to live forever alone in the simulation assuming your body is dead. The figure in the car during crash I cannot explain though, it could have been the moment they killed your body in the real world but I can't figure anything else. For those that didn't get the glitch then you can assume the same thing but you actually both live.

He is not a ghost nor is he in your car. Occasionally, ill hear him taking about him trying to showtime in a hunter spur or a krieger pioneer. As far as the timing goes, i would be using something higher up on the unlock list like the inferno van, janson p12, or touge sport. The other part of that would be that i would be doing several races back to back instead of showtiming. I typically save the timed and showtime road rules until i got my gold cars.

That's something I didn't really notice until now actually. Man, this conspiracy just keeps getting deeper and deeper! That's something I could imagine being possible since DJs do change their names up sometimes. Plus given that if we assume the world of Burnout is at least somewhat realistic, CrashFM would have to be an illegal organization since they encourage people to crash cars and cause chaos, so possibly Stryker/Atomika could've changed his name after being found by authorities between Burnout 3 and Burnout Paradise.

I did my burning route and he said that theres a driver (me) who was driving fast and when he looked in his rear mirror the grille of my car was in his mirror. At the time my front bumber was broken and my grille was visible. Scary!

there are no humans in Paradise city. it's a city where cars drive on their own. and DJ atomika is there narrating what's happening in the city. so you want to call him ghost or whatever. The game world itself doesn't make sense

Not true, racing games like Burnout don't normally have a model for the driver, so you are mostly correct about you not being in the car, but you are wrong about you being a ghost, it's to actually save space for all cars, while the bikes in Burnout Paradise have riderz on them, they disappear right away as you crash your bike into a car

I think the car in the other video is a photoshop. I play burn out for years and years playing both games you have mention and no evidence or uncounted i had got for those years and that's his evidence is that reasonable have a glitch or muted soundtracks had happen. Now your thought are reasonable because your fact proven that dissing more than one side off the arguement.

I've never gotten the weird muted soundtrack glitch either, but I bet that it's probably possible. I think the other video about this, the "Dark Side of the Disk One" is still an interesting theory, but after seeing that I wondered what I could do to make a more realistic theory about DJ Atomica, especially given my own experience as a radio host. Still though, I think the one by The Superforge is worth a watch.

Don't know if the beginning of the game is necessarily creepy, but once you start thinking about it, the whole concept of Burnout is kind of spooky. A bunch of street racers racing around, trying to wreck each other, and sometimes even trying to wreck normal people in traffic, all the while a bunch of DJs encourage them and people are setting up the events all over the world.
