Eagerly awaiting new material, but so lucky to have Acid Bath & everything since he's done, to get into & immerse myself in, as a brand new fan! Cant believe idiot's are writing anything negative about him, he seems like one seriously cool homosapien! To those saying they r gutted at the soind of his voice & calling him gay etc, ask urself why u care about his voice / views expressed / appearance etc? My guess would be that u yourselves are doibtful about your very own sexuality, for why else would tou be concerned with the appearance of another man? Btw iMO he is an open & honest bloke who dont give a flying f**k, if he was gay he wouldnt deny it but embrace it, liie anyone born that way should. Just a thought. Dax RRULEZ!!!

Not sure why it didn't happen, but the writing chops and overall sonics of acid bath leads me to the belief that their core songwriting dynamic should have led to MASSIVE success in the post Pantera metal era... Too bad they called it quits, and that their writing magic wasn't recaptured. His singing style was tragically understated when listening to today's sing/scream garbage. He actually made it sound awesome.
@crawlingamongthestars37364 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure they could have made it truly big or even close to mainstream back in the 90s, probably not even today truthfully. A lot of the lyrics are too disturbing and transgressive, and the music flirted with death and black metal, in an authentically dark way... They're destined to just be an incredible gem of the underground for all time, I think, and that's not a problem. They don't have to be mainstream. They're very special in a completely different kind of way.
@diegstroX80322 жыл бұрын
Preferences, huh? It’s “garbage” to you, but fortunately many, many feel differently. Yes, while Dax is in his own league, a number of vocalists do it effectively and sound GREAT. Plus worth noting: many Metal fans credit a band like Fear Factory for starting that whole scream/sing style, but even that’s debated. These folks with an appreciation for today’s stuff have no taste? Well, music snobs gonna music snobs. With that said, as woefully (100%) underrated as both Dax and Acid Bath may be, it’s VERY doubtful they would have been MASSIVE. Successful in their own right? Perhaps. But super hard to see them reaching Pantera levels as great as they were. Though even back in the day, a critic (and not a negative one) suggested that a song like “Venus Blue” could have been a legit hit had its lyrics not been so… brutal. Now while people should be able to separate imagery from sound if you will, fact is Dax wrote some pretty gnarly stuff. But to add to what crawlingamongthestars said, their music didn’t exactly scream mainstream. Now it could be that they were really ahead of their time and many people just weren’t prepared for their music, though even today it seems like they don’t quite get the recognition they deserve. Still, who knows how bigger they could have gotten had Audie not died and Dax decided to keep going (mind you, he was losing interest in writing heavier stuff). Anyway, one can make several arguments as to why they didn’t get the respect they deserved by many back then and blame whatever, but ehhh…
