One of America's most historic lodges. The Lodge is stunningly located on Burntside Lake with cozy cabins dating from 1913-1950s. Burntside Lake is fantastic for canoeing, fishing and swimming. Located just outside Ely, Minnesota - the gateway to Boundary Waters Canoe Area.

I went there as a a child\teenager and it was owned by a family as it was called Moat's Resort, it was so cool. On the weekend's they had a sauna house it got so hot and when you couldn't take it anymore you ran off the pier into the lake. My dad would fish and we would go wild blueberry picking, we would bring home frozen fish and berries, so good. We packed everything to stay in the cabins and as a teen by the time we went home my acne had all but cleared up. God I MISS THAT PLACE AND THE MEMORIES! IF ANYONE REMEMBERS MOAT'S RESORT LET ME KNOW!

I agree! Nice video, but these days everybody thinks they have to have music in their videos. You I go here every year to enjoy quiet and a few nature sounds. You can't even pump gas without someone assaulting your ears with music.

my dad's uncle has a cabin up there which our family goes to a lot and I can definitely say it is beautiful up there basically like Canada. has some really good fishing if u ever go up there hmu and I can tell you what to use to catch some biggins.

I took my younger self, younger bride and young children there in '92. We stayed at the water cabin farthest east of the lodge - (02:20 on left) and also rented the speedboat for the week. It was awesome. As I recall - mind you, this is 28 years ago, the owner's name was Ray LaMontagne. pronounced La-Montaine

BWCA IS THE MOST GORGEOUS PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! It should be and must be preserved for all eternity. Absolutely breathtaking.
