Do you have an update on the burrito dropplings?! Mine have been in a tray for about 5 weeks & they’re finally starting to put out roots and one has a succulent starting 😍 just wondering how yours turned out or what to expect! Thanks!!!

Yes most of them are plants now! Cuttings are way way faster though, but they do eventually grow, it just takes FOREVER!!!

I am wondering about taking more than one cutting from the same….frond? I’m not sure what to call them, but my burrito plant, who is named Matthew Gray Gubler in honour of my Hollywood heartthrob, has really long fronds/tendrils/legs/? and I wondered about taking multiple cuttings at a time from the same one. Will that kill MGG? Would he survive something like that, do you think?

First of all, that's a very well named plant, and second of all, yes, cutting a long bit of stem into several cuttings and potting each of them is perfectly fine 😀 I've done it before and it works great, though you should try to avoid cutting it into too many pieces, you want each of your cuttings to be at least three inches (7.62 cm) in length, that way you can still have enough leaves to photosynthesize a root system

Oh no! 😢 maybe they're not getting enough sun, what kind of lighting is it kept in?

@@smittyandsky That very well could be. I moved it from full sun in my south-facing living room, to the top of my China cabinet in my dining room so that his long legs could hang down. He’d previously been chillin on a coffee table. I also couldn’t totally see how much water he was getting up there and I may have over watered him. Perhaps a combo of too much water and not enough sun…? I’m guessing should move him back to his original spot, where he was soaking up the rays?

I'll bet he just misses his homeland on the coffee table, though if it isn't too dark up there he may acclimate eventually, it could be just shock from being moved 🤔

What is the temp and humidity they prefer?
@smittyandsky
@smittyandsky 3 жыл бұрын
They prefer to be kept at between 50 and 78 degrees Fahrenheit, (10 26 Celsius) but a little above or below this range is okay, and they will do fine in pretty much any level of humidity, though if you love somewhere really really humid, you may want to water them a little bit less often, thanks for watching!

You know what, it could be that they nerd more sun, ideally they need around 2 hours direct sunlight, and then bright direct sunlight all the rest of the day
