Thanks Burt for finally giving Shemp the recognition he so rightfully deserves. He was a very talented actor. I have a collection of the solo shorts he made. They are very funny. His comedy will live on forever. 😄

Shemp was classic, so many appearances, films, shorts, ..all GOLD!
As a young kid I liked Curly the best. As I got older Shemp became my favorite stooge hands down.

He was in the "Gold Diggers" short and the "glass of beer/straight razor" scene is probably the funniest thing I've ever seen 😂

I love Shemps solo career. I never knew until two years ago that his solo resume existed. When you see some of his solo stuff you can see what he used during his stooge era routines. It's rather interesting.

This is so informative - and thanks so much for the mention of "Convention Girl" on KZbin? Another bonus - more Christine McIntyre in these Shemp clips!! What a beauty.

Shemp was my favorite as well as Mo said himself shemp is the comedian. Shemp is the only stooge that was successful as a lone stooge in Hollywood. He only came back after curly got sick because he did not want Moe and Larry to not have a paycheck that's just the kind of heart he had. He really didn't want to join The Three stooges but he agreed to join until curly recovered the thing is Curly never recovered. Shemp Howard is the best stage of all time in my opinion he wasn't allowed to shine because when he came to Columbia they were doing budget cuts so he done a lot of shorts with restock and old footage in it and not allowed to be his true self. In my opinion although curly is the favorite for many people shemp is the best in my opinion.

Not that everything in Moe's book is all just one big self-aggrandizing lie, of course. But ya, Shemp did get short-changed somewhat, and this new book is something that every Stooges fan should not do without. Thank you, Pete Holder for bringing to light the great Bert Kearns.
