Burt Ward shares a few letters to Robin in this scarce single written and arranged by Frank Zappa

This is hilarious. It's like Zappa wrote the dialogue knowing how tongue in cheek funny it is without informing Burt. One of my favorite Zappa cuts in terms of humor.

Burt Ward is 72 now (2017).This single was recorded in 1966 written and produced by Frank Zappa B side 'Orange colored sky') - one of Frank Zappa's odder music involvements! Hilarious...but as a single,very rare!

It's so Frank Zappa. Ward speaks in a Zappa-esque manner which is hilarious. D'ya think Frank meant it as a joke? Ward seems unaware.
@TheHatheist5 жыл бұрын
According to Ward's autobiography the whole thing was set up by MGM execs, and he was VERY aware of his lack of musical talent. Zappa was also apparently very open about making it a gag album, after hearing Ward's singing voice. Of course, that was an autobiography written years after the fact.

Very typical of Zappa's style of musical parody. I doubt that Ward was unaware. It's ultra cringey if you don't take it as parody. He would have to be braindead.

Never heard this till now. I like Zappa’s parody stuff like Ruben and the Jets, and Bongo Fury. I really like the kitsch factor! I’m glad Burt mentioned the girls remark at the end as was was getting the creepy factor at that point.

Usually Frank does long 20 minute long meandering cynical pieces. At 2 minutes, this is a gem, and funny. On a radio talk show in 1995, I heard Burt Ward interviewed about a book he wrote. I wasn't expecting milk-through-the-nose funny from him, but that's what happened when I listened to it.
