Great video might need to add to my other burton boards custom x, deep thinker and 2 skeleton keys. Rode a Salomon 157 Dancehaul and a super 8 earlier in the week and was super impressed. Love the look of all the family tree thanks guys.

Thank you for the great video. I’m a low intermediate rider currently riding the Burton Instigator Flat Top. Looking for a more pow-specific board which is not too difficult to use/unforgiving. What do you guys think of the Pow Wrench vs the Home Town Hero? Thanks in advance!
@oldmanwintereight
@oldmanwintereight Жыл бұрын
Both boards are great in the pow but i would say the main questions to ask yourself are, Do I want something that I'm probably only going to ride on pow days (Pow Wrench), or do you want something that has a little more versatility (Hometown Hero). You can obviously ride both boards in most conditions but the Pow Wrench will be a little better on a pow day than the Hometown Hero but the Hometown Hero will ride better on the groomers when the pow is tracked out or nonexistent. Can't go wrong either way 👍

Do you guys think the home town hero is too stiff/unforgiving for an intermediate rider compared to the pow wrench?
@oldmanwintereight
@oldmanwintereight Жыл бұрын
@@norrin01 it definitely is stiffer than the Pow Wrench but it’s still a medium flex so it’s not crazy stiff overall

Thanks for all the great videos! For the territory manager, would you suggest sizing up or down? A 154 or 160? Thats a big spread. Im 5’8.5 and 195lbs. I usually ride a 158. Ive ridden a 162 for season which was ok but kinda had a “boat” feeling to it.
@thehouse
@thehouse Жыл бұрын
It is not a volume shift board of any means but id say run the 160 if you have been riding 158's. Little extra stability and float never hurt anyone -> www.the-house.com/bufttm142073zz-burton-snowboards

Any advice for pros / cons on choosing the Hometown Hero vs. the Jones Frontier? Any any binding recommendations to go with either?
@thehouse
@thehouse Жыл бұрын
While both boards are rad the HTH would be a little more comparable to the Flagship from Jones. The Frontier is a little more of a traditional all mountain/freeride board compared to the more tapered shapes of the HTH and Flagship. As for bindings it’s really just your personal preferences in flex and feel. Traditionally on those boards you’d want something with a medium to stiffer flex. The main thing is to NOT get a cheaper, softer, beginner style binding. That would be like throwing Walmart tires on a Ferrari. www.the-house.com/snbd

What is most similar to the older T6
@thehouse
@thehouse Жыл бұрын
Oh wow, uhhhhh nothing 😂 The T6 was a pretty rad board in its day with a lot of cool tech. Definitely for that hard charging freerider who wanted some all mountain versatility. Nowadays Id have to say a board like the Hometown Hero, or if you want something a little bit more on the "wide open, long carve" style of ride then the Straight Chuter. @@thehouse thank you for your quick reply. I’m 50yo been riding since 86’ started with a Kemper then rode Burton Asym Air series. Even after all these years I’ve only had about 5 boards. I’m still riding the T6 today. I always favored a board with a deep sidecut, and quick edge to edge for the steep terrain. I prefer a tight carve to a long carve. Speed just ends up being trouble at the resorts. I also really like the powder in the trees so it can’t be too stiff. Great dampening is preferred and finally I’ve only Ridden traditional camber and have never tried the newer camber styles.

Honestly any of the boards in the Family Tree line are going to be great for you. Just depends on if you want more of an all mountain, freeride, or pow focused ride

Biggest different for the hometown hero vs the flight attendant?
@thehouse
@thehouse Жыл бұрын
The HTH is a little livelier and snappier edge to edge with the Carbon Highlights and the FA has a little smoother feel edge to edge while maintaining sturdiness and pop with the Carbon I-Beam. BURTON BOARDS-> www.the-house.com/snbd-burton

First Cut vs. Flight Attendant? How would they compare please.
@thehouse
@thehouse 2 жыл бұрын
First Cut is a little stiffer with a little less sidecut. Meant for charging a little harder and takin those long, swooping carves. Flight Attendant is a little easier flowy style of ride, kind of a freeride board with more all mountain capabilities.

@@EssenceOfTrance It's just the progression of the products and shapes. They have new shapes that they want to release each year but they also have those tried and true shapes that do well every year. Just trying to find the balance between the 2 without have waaay to many boards in the line.
