It is the record. He’s mouthing the song to the record. They did that back then. In fact, I think they still do it today, though not as much as back then.

My cousin was murdered when this song was released - he was from a “good family “ but got in “too deep with strangers - we have never recovered - I became a lawyer because of it - displaced anger and resentment- this will always have a place in my heart - Burton is amazing and this song really hits it

Thank y'all for such great songs. Your music made a difference in my life. My first real heart break - the one that got away. These Eyes - saved my heart. It ran through my mind for years and helped me to heal. I do not even know how it did, but it did. So - sincerely Thank you all!
