In this video, we set up camp on a hillside farm in horrendous weather, rain, wind, cold, and wet. It really wasn't very pleasant. Our camp is set in a stunning location between the lakes of Llynau Mymbyr and the mountains of the Snowdon Horseshoe. The next day started out very similar with misty rain, but the rain subsided, the cloud cleared, and we decided to hike up the hill opposite (more like a mountain to me with a very, very steep accent)
We rested a few times as we spent the day exploring, the ground was very boggy, and the going was very tough. We stopped to make lunch on this extremely wet and soggy ground. Unfortunately, this is where it went wrong for me during the cooking process.

Good to see it is not only me who gets crap weather every time they go to Wales but still a good laugh mind. To be honest it reminded me of a scene in Last of the Summer Wine and just as funny as well but good to see you did get a break in the weather to get out and hike. The riverside setting was canny and one the best river crossing I have ever seen lol. Evening scoff was a let down but saved by that breakkie, cheers Alan

The weather was grim that first day for sure Alan, that was the first time I've been to Wales since I was a kid. It turned out OK in the end the next day, it's a fair old drive, it was 6 hours to get there, I will deffo go back to Wales but South Wales is a few hours closer. 👍 Thanks for watching mate.

Wonderful Lee bro ! ..Wales looks awesome !! ..I like wet and windy.. and so do my underpants !! lol ..The last time I saw JC he was riding a rusty bicycle ! lol Sweet camper van.. I used to surf and had a VW Type 2 Bay.. loved it !! Bad weather is a classic on a camp spot !! ..it's like a biscuit with a cuppa !! lol

Yes it was a good laugh, I loved it up top, shame about the bailed wild camp. Brown only put it up once on his driveway and didn't put it up properly so it was a testing time 🤣 when we came back from the hike it had collapsed on one side, blow up awnings are not good in 25mph+ winds we found out.

It caught the dry grass on fire a bit 😮 it made me laugh too afterwards. That awning had collapsed when we got back, they aren't that strong with a side wind against it. It was a laugh Gaz, I was gutted we had to bail on a wild camp though. It wouldn't have been fair on Ants as his mat was buggered... and the overnight weather was predicted the same as previous night up top. TFW mate

Very pretty up in the hills. I stopped using my pocket rocket for that very reason.. so unstable on rough ground. Shame you didn't get to sleep out. But looked a good trip.

Yeah that moss was basically a bog...it was thick but so soft. Yes a real shame. we didn't wild camp the next day, I had so much kit with me ready for it 🤷🏼‍♂️ I had a laugh, so that's all that matters. Deffo going back to Wales but maybe south, so the journey isn't so long. It was like £170 on fuel!

Despite the weather, I loved it, no, not the nitecore, I can't find an old style one cheap enough. 🤷🏼‍♂️ it's the Sunblessa thing that just shuts down when it wants. It's a great torch, but I can't rely on it, so I've always got a backup in my pocket. Yes, I'd be up for that son... send me some rough dates when you're not touring, and we'll make it happen 🤪
