Im amazed at your tallents. In all seriousness I pray you live long enough to finish, drive and enjoy your effort's. We all want to see your travel viseo in this finished Bus. I had a stroke last December at 68 years young. That was a wake up call for me. God Bless James

Before to After ... So that's what that should have looked like in the first place. Glad you recognized the Driver side verses the passenger side difference I was scratching my head as to why the drain vent was on top. Shop manuals are worth every expensive penny for the paper their made of . This one job alone proves that the rebuild cost for a shop to do it for you would not have saved you much money or told you it was the wrong side chamber. glad to see the important parts of this rebuild got into the video a lot to learn from this one video and most of it was in the commentary . Great work again James and Amazing work on the video and commentary. We need to get you a Honorary Doctorate Degree in Automotive Technology. Professor Dr. James E. Dennison PhD AT.

Hi Mr James. Hoping this finds you and your family in good health, spirits, and, happiness! I am constantly in awe of your knowledge and skills regarding electrical, mechanical, and, cosmetic features on vehicles! And, after watching this particular video, with you confessing you didn't know anything about rebuilding a brake chamber, I have to add 'courage' !! Some of the things I have watched you do would simply cause me to go into freeze mode! My hat is most definitely off to you! As always, great video! Sometimes watching YOUR videos I wonder what happened to our friend in Austin, Texas. Seems he just disappeared off of KZbin and the planet in general. Wherever he is and whatever he's doing I wish him well. Keep pumping out the videos, as, they're not only educational, but, very enjoyable as well! Every video of yours I watch 'the move' y'all have to make from your current location sticks in my brain; I really feel for y'all on that note because I'd rather take a beating than move! Take care and God Bless! ( 8/11/2019. Sunday. 12:29pmCST. ~Jim in Houston, Texas~ )

I actually work for a company that both rebuilds and supplies new dd3 chambers. Most of our sales go to New Flyer industries (MCI)

Nice work James I've never seen one of the brake chambers opened up on my last coach before my current conversion I had maxes put on the bus because it had the old Johnny arm emergency break in it and I didn't like it's. Thanks for taken the time to walk us through it. Can't wait to see the coolant video. Your bus is really coming along buddy keep up the great work.

Thanks Brian, putting Maxi's on would have been my preferred fix as well but there just isn't the clearance for them.... at least these are rebuildable .....

Hello James. I just came across your post tonight. I have been with Richfield Bus Company as a driver/mechanic for 18 years, primarily working on the Bus Boys Collection flleet of vintage buses. Although we have had from time to time MC and GM coaches and transits with DD#'s, I have never overhauled one, so this video is very interesting. I started posting a year ago. Please visit my postings and let me know what you think. Some are mechanical, some are electronic.

Hi Phil.... I watch the Bus Grease Monkey so I've seen you on his channel.... thats a nice collection of old buses... those DD3 brakes are a goofy design but they work fine... way cheaper to rebuild yourself than to buy a rebuilt one.... I'll check out your channel.... good to hear from you

Hi James - great video! Was wondering if you know of a place to get parts to work on a DD3 brake. I need to rebuild both of mine. Thanks!

Did you use a scrap piece of wood with two holes for the large threaded bolts to hold down the spring while screwing the plate on?
@JamesEDennison
@JamesEDennison 5 жыл бұрын
NO.... that would have been a great idea.... where were you when I was doing it... :-).... I just compressed it by hand and wiggled the bolts in till I got it... it wasn't easy....
