2016? Nice to see another longtime fan of the channel!! Love that the NY Transit Museum does stuff like this for their passionate fanbase! NY's transit history is rich, and the NY Transit Museum takes great care to promote NYC's heritage. Those Fishbowl buses were retired in NYC in the mid-1990s (mostly; when the city took over New York Bus Lines in 2005, those buses were retired), so when it comes to the GM Fishbowls in particular, the MetroCard was introduced just before they were retired. But in some places, Fishbowl buses lasted longer as a Fishbowl from 1976 retired in 2014 in Woodstock, Ontario. You can also tell on that particular bus at 2:42 that it was last used in the 1990s as it has advertisement for Made in America, a 1993 movie!

The old GM fishbowl buses were initially being phased out in the early 80’s but had to be brought back into service en masse because of the fiasco with the Grumman Flexibles. (Story for another day) the old buses pretty much stayed in service well into the’90s alongside the RTS II buses. So it makes sense that the MetroCard signage and fare info were there

Roebling Plaza is named after Emily Warren Roebling, who contributed greatly to the Brooklyn Bridge's construction. Her husband was chief engineer but when he was bedridden, it was up to her (who was the only one to visit him when he was sick) to see it through. She developed extensive knowledge thanks to his teachings. She took over much of the chief engineer duties, including day-to-day supervision and project management. When the bridge was finally completed in 1883, she was the first to cross it by carriage. She was honored in a speech by Abram Stevens Hewitt, who said that the bridge was, "an everlasting monument to the sacrificing devotion of a woman and of her capacity for that higher education from which she has been too long disbarred".

at 2:41, you unlocked a memory there. they didn't retrofit the metrocard machines! those were how buses looked in the late 90s, when they first implemented today's metrocard (then known as MetroCard Gold)

Hey Suprtoe....the reason for the modern fare boxes on the antique buses is this....on Earth Day....and the Christmas holidays....many of those buses run in service on the M42 crosstown route

Busses, unless they use dedicated and protected lanes, can only move as fast as the traffic blocking them. I'm not qualified to offer an opinion other than they must fix the underlying problem of traffic to fix bus service quality.
