the fact that it late to answer is because CNG bus's do that in real life the gas pedal actually has a delay in response but it's usually is because the bus has been converted to CNG and doesn't happen in engines that have been designed primarerily as a gas engine , great video man keep it up

I think that of the Iveco is some sort of safety feature to prevent the bus from moving until the doors are fully closed. In Italy we're full of Ivecos, and I think I saw the driver touching the accelerator briefly once to disengage the brakes, and a second one to actually move the bus. Nice video :)

That already exist since the mid 90's. But the difference with Iveco vs volvo,van hool,mercedes is that all newer buses from iveco can't leave till the bus is fully in non kneeling position. With buses from van hool(the one i drive with every day) and volvo and mercedes you have to keep your foot on the brake as a safety so the moment you open the back door the parking brake jump on then you push in the brake pedal and the bus will lower automatic. You close the door,release foot from the brake and you can drive again no matter if the bus is fully back in postition.... This foot on the brake thing is taken away with the new iveco and the bus keeps the brake on by auto till the bus is back in position. That's why it is slower in game then the other buses ;)Also the kneeling position on iveco buses is not a choice anymore it's automatic with every stop vs van hool,volvo,mercedes that still apply the foot on the brake technique ;)

Yes like i said ;) same with vanhool and every other bus brand... But the coming out of kneeling position is slower then the closing of the doors. That's why man,vanhool,mercedes,volvo are faster in leaving.. The moment the door closed the parking brake jumps off and i can drive even if the bus is still lowered down and going up.Not the case with iveco where the parking break don't release till doors are closed AND the bus is back in position. The brake pedal is just a manual triggering for the bus to lower it does not impact the parking brake as the parking brake is controlled by the doors and not the height position of the bus ;) Maybe you read my comment wrong or i explained it wrong :p

I think the delay in moving once you press the accelerator might have to do with the fact that it is a CNG bus. As far as I know, in cars that run on CNG, the acceleration rate reduces drastically and hence require more revs to get it moving.

What you mentioned about the doors on the Iveco is a door interlock brake. It’s a safety feature. I’m a bus driver in real life and all of the buses have it. Yes, it’s annoying as it delays you pulling away from the bus stop, but it’s there as a safety feature. Most buses it doesn’t release until the doors have fully shut.

Many buses now will not allow the bus to move until the doors are fully closed and detected as closed. We've got some new buses at our depot and you have to almost do Riverdance on the pedals to get them to move when you close the doors!

Even the Iveco in ETS 2 acts the same way. So I'm guessing it's the way that the vehicles from Iveco are designed.

The funny thing is you can break every rule they set for you in Old Town after you complete the objective. I drive Citaro G's into the area all the time. I also have 2 or 3 routes in the area with non-CNG buses. The funny thing is it's easier to drive the bendy buses in Old Town than the Setra S418 and the S418 isn't "barred" from driving there.

Paul, I can tell you that the MAN hasn't got a bug. In my hometown we have some 2006, 2009 and 2015 MANs and they ALL allow you to move with doors mid-closed, or even with doors fully open (but of course it has a buzzer that sounds until the driver presses the button and the doors close)

Alot of busses have the brakes go on when your doors are open squrral 👍. It's a safety feature 👍 the busses I drive will also not move untill you apply the Accelerator even when the doors have been closed. However squrral, always apply the parking brake just in case this system fails.

The reason he doesn't is because the AI pedestrians walk into the bus causing a massive fine to the player. In Paul's early streams of this game he was doing that and getting fined too much so he decided to pull in a bit further out which gets around that issue.

Old Volvo buses also has that brake issue when closing the doors. You have to press the pedal for about 1 to 2 seconds to get away and it smoothly disengages the brakes. It's annoying tho.

The man DL05 does that parking brake thing in OMSI 2. Try it. It's like a stopping brake and the doors won't open until you engage it. Takes about 2 seconds to release also after the doors have closed.

RE the 'slow' brake release..... Some buses have an interlock that holds the bus when a door is open or the bus is leaned/kneeled. Which of these options have, affects how long it releases. I remember some models of bus I used to HATE leaning, because they wouldn't drive until they came back to a certain position. Where I drove, all buses were fitted with an interlock when any door was open, but I have been to places where buses can drive with some/all doors open (and naturally they have a very slightly quicker turnaround as they can open the doors before they stop, and close them as they're leaving). I don't necessarily know how the exact mechanisms work, but some models definitely released earlier than others when the door was closed (usually you'd here a slight release of air)... I don't think this is so much to the chassis manufacturer (eg IVECO, MAN, Volvo, Mercedes, Scania, Renault etc) but to the body manufacturer (not sure what you have in the UK, but in Aus that's Custom Coaches, Volgren, Bustech and possibly others I can't think of (I'm not geek enough, but someone will correct me - I think 'Austral' and 'Denning' (later 'Austral Denning') might have also been body builders?). Either way (and not specifically familiar with the buses in BusSim) I would guess that any differing behaviour between buses is an attempt at realism rather than a bug...

I do understand the frustration....sometimes you had a bus where it felt like the door took and ETERNITY to close....but while it feels like a horrible delay, it affects timetables surprisingly little (in cities, traffic lights and passengers/tickets have the biggest impact - and driving at 60km/h or 40km/h rarely affects trip time too much)

Let me first tell you I do enjoy all your videos but my two best sections that you do is America Trucking video and Bus Simulator but to me it seems like most of the episodes you do that basically easy I myself would like to see maybe American trucking simulator in a blizzard where he has to pull over and let the blizzard go by and then continue on with his journey also the same thing for Bus Simulator but like I said before I enjoy all your videos keep up the good work and I would like to see some more harder videos with a drivers have to take shortcut to detour just to get back on the route
