Bus Video 4 - TP3001!!!

TP3001 is Transperth's most unique bus currently in service. It is a demonstrator MAN articulated gas bus with a Brisbane interior. The last time I rode on it was in 2020, and I only had seen it a few times since. Recently it has been coming back into service more often, usually with the enthusiastic driver Gavin driving. A few months ago I missed a major enthusiast meeting on this bus because of school work, but today there was another one and I finally managed to board it on the 41 in Maylands, over 40 minutes late after it actually broke down at EQBS and the mechanic Jay had to come and fix it before it continued. We then also take it on the round trip of the 980.

@@TransportofPerth well I was on 3001 at a 371 once and ppl got on at Mirrabooka the first thing they said was "OI WHAT THE F**K IS WRONG WITH THIS BUS" and "hey look theres no cage we can badh the driver"

For comparison in sound, one of the 30 in service over in Brisbane, which spend up to 18hrs a day, 5 days a week going up and down the busway, although they do appear on routes that venture off the busway, too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqbdnod_rbd0l5I I feel the Custom Coaches CB60 bodywork has aged a lot better than the CB80 that replaced it, the CB80 was styled a bit too aggressively and now looks quite dated. In both cases the fit and finish seems of good quality, even after several years in service, no irritating rattles or squeaks!

It is out of service and has been basically since this video was filmed as it is so common to break down. That's why it's so rare for it to be around and this video was made. Trust me, when it's out there will again be tonnes of videos on KZbin of it, especially since it will now move to Welshpool depot soon and do routes out of there next time.

@XTech13Official You *should* hear about in service again soon 😉. It typically runs 41 or 980 both starting at Elizabeth Quay Bus Stn from Platform A (well at least it did last time it was around as you see here). Keep that in mind.

The new Bayswater Station is opening in September and then the Yanchep Rail Extension with Alkimos, Eglinton and Yanchep Stations in January.

?? How was this me letting people join??? It was literally just the bus operating and everyone getting on to see it. As you can see I was one of the last people to get on. If you wanted to ride it, you would've gone and ridden it like everyone else. Wth are you one about now.

Honestly, this bus is pretty useless. First of all, people just like TP3001 just because its rare. Second of all it always breaks down and is one of the oldest buses out there, that's why its pretty useless. It should be withdrawn by now. But I do like the bus. Its my favourite but still, all of that above matters and what I am saying is 100% true. I believe this bus will be withdrawn next year.
