I worked at kings island during haunt as a zombie in KillMart, a zombie outbreak in a Walmart type place, and one day I forgot my water bottle so my supervisor let me go in a grab it. All the lights were off and I only had my phone light. The scariest thing ever. At least you had lights on Matt 😂

I work at a theme park which does a haunt event (work on the haunt team actually). The houses are kept up year round, and yes they are left unlocked and anyone with access backstage can go around and even turn them on. I’m assuming from this video that it’s a normal practice to do that.

Finally I’ve always wanted someone to go back there! There used to be an old ride in the building about 20 years ago but it’s been removed and now it’s used to a haunted house instead! These haunted houses are so well themed I’m sure they’ve decided to just redo them every 5 years or so besides taking them all down after it’s over? Pretty sure thats the only two houses still up as well. Not sure if you could get into rhino rally but you can try lol?

I think they don't take down the haunted houses at some amusement parks because 1. They re-use them : props, sets and themes are often reused for the next Halloween season. 2. They don't have to re build : they keep them up so they can make a few changes if needed but they don't have to build a whole set again. 3. Convenient: since the houses are often out of the view of guests during regular season, they don't have to worry about them seeming out of place or people accidentally stumbling across them (unless you are trespassing lol) 4. They might be still in use: I actually work at an amusement park and we had events where you could actually go into the horror mazes that we have in the middle of May lmao (it was an escape room type event where they went into the horror houses and made it into an escape room for employees only) also I've seen behind the scene events and people who work during Halloween seasons as monsters get to practice in their houses before the season starts

I can tell you theres more. I built one of their wood/steel hybrid coasters like 2 or 3 years ago and I did the same thing. There was one right next to our jobsite trailer and storage containers we had setup in the back and I took a walk through it. Everyone else was too afraid to get caught. Also had a contractor pass/ID that got me access to the park for the year lol. Just flash that and walk about.

If you’re into this, you should look into the Carnage Warehouse at Islands of Adventure. It’s a building behind the Marvel land where a couple years ago they had a horror maze based on Carnage from Spiderman. There were descriptions of decapitated superheroes and all sorts of stuff that’s come up recently!

It's not uncommon for theme parks to keep stuff up after haunt season they tend to work on returning mazes throughout the year and tear out what there getting rid of build season acctuly starts in March/ April by August everything is finalized and by labor day. Finishing touches Begin I highly recommend a Knott's DVD called season of screams you'll enjoy it stay outta trouble huh 😉😜
