Buses in Canberra; Australia's capital city

In this video we see buses around the city of Canberra; Australia's capital city, being home to the Australian Government at Parliament House, and other important Commonwealth institutions, monuments and museums such as the high court, The Australian War Memorial, the National Gallery of Australia, and more.
Canberra is unique as it's a planned city, designed by architects Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin, primarily inspired by the Garden City Movement. Today it has a population of over 410,000 people.
Public transport in Canberra is primarily served by bus, run by government owned operator ACTION (Australian Capital Territory Internal Omnibus Network). Canberra implemented a new bus network on the 29th April 2019 to coincide with the opening of the new light rail line, featuring 59 bus routes, which includes nine rapid routes that provide fast and frequent service to key destinations.
In this video we see various buses around Canberra on a weekend. We primarily see buses at City Interchange, but we also see some at Dickson, Belconnen and Gungahlin. The buses seen are MAN A69 18.320's and Scania K320UB's with Custom Coaches, Volgren and Bustech bodywork. A larger variety of buses including older low floors, high floors, and articulated buses can be seen on weekdays.

I remember many times sitting in the cold windy Woden Bus exchange waiting for a bus to Tuggeranong... Ahhh Tuggeranong...! I used to love taking the piss... it reminds me of "High Noon", with the broad quiet empty streets, just perfect for the Marshall waiting for baaaad things to happen because the Bad Hombres are arriving at the Tuggeranong bus exchange on the 4:02 from Woden..... "Ohhh My Darrrrrling, don't forsake me.....!" The one thing I l did like about the Canberra buses have have is you could store your bike at the front of the bus. Still I live in Melbourne now and trams are better. Good to seeCanberra has trams.I hope they get down to TUGGERANONG.

Our light rails are being planned to move into Woden first soon, I can't day how far away that is but eventually the rails will indeed go into Tuggeranong. Which is good because I live on the southside so the rails are pointless for me at the moment 🤷‍♀️

Ahhh the Canberra buses... my love/hate relationship now I am back in Melbourne, I can look back on.... because of the speed of the buses, and the bendy nature of the Canberan streets, I do remember getting motion sickness, something that I did not ever get living elsewhere--including living in London. The Woden bus interchange, was bland, concrete, and antiseptic in it's style, and I place I remember not so fondly on many cold, dark days waiting for a bus to Tuggeranong....

Cities in The world yeah this shows Canberra is a great place to visit for a couple of days? But having lived there for four years, it became like “The Village” from “Prisoner”, and like No 6, I planned my escape, and I am much happier in Melbourne ... perhaps that’s a better city you could do a profile on.....

Yeah back in the late 90's you would be lucky if busses showed up, I was even on a bus when a driver asked the remaining passengers where they were going so he could cut the trip short, guess I now know why busses never showed up when they are supposed to in Kippax back in the day, yeah not missing Canberra much myself and I can attest to those cold, cold wait times...

At 8:00 you can see very old bus that is banned for over 10 years in Europe by now due to environmental and safety reasons. Yet still used in Canberra Australia. Wow.

Darts no longer exist in Canberra. We now have updated buses, some of them are even made electric! We also have a light rail system in the City that will branch all over Cannberra soon and that system is run by 100% electricity. Thankfully, Canberra is actually going to be the first ever state to be 100% enewable by 2020!

The Government Buys Them For The Buses. & When The PR2'S,PR3'S Get WithDrawn Those Bike Racks/Pedestrian Catchers Re-Used For Another Bus. They Put Those Bike Racks Onto Another Bus

Being a capital city a large portion of the population work in the public service, with the city itself largely consisting of government buildings and offices. Thus you won't see much people out on a weekend when this video was filmed.
