I think that while the new album is a departure from the Bush from 10-20 years ago, that when I listen to all five albums on road trips or when I run, that I see no big difference between this Bush and the old Bush. It's hard for me to judge old v new as I really like each album because they all present a different side to Bush, which is why I think this album is a good addition. Just my two cents. I'm looking forward to a 6th album, really think they'd find their niche with the next one.

It's silly to compare the new Bush to the old bush, it doesn't add to the enjoyment of this music. Of course the old Bush was better than the new Bush, but this music stands on it's own nonetheless. It's like comparing Foo Fighters to Nirvana, Nirvana will always be better, but that doesn't mean Foo Fighters isn't good music. I know my argument doesn't make perfect sense but the point I'm trying to get across here is that this is a good song and it's worth listening to.

Yes, but I think another major reason why Nigel not return is fact that he knew Gavin will want to get to Bush new sound.

I think is also a lot about who recording them. I don't much like Bob Rock as sound engineer. Of course he is a star and legend between sound engineers but he sometimes make records too much pop sound like. I hope they hire someone else to recording new album. I heard new 2 songs (House Is On Fire, Loneliness Is A Killer) that they played live and i think it sounds better and heavier than most of Sea Of Memories songs so I am optimist an I think new record could be great.

false. the main reason that Nigel left the band was that he didnt want to tour anymore. he missed his child growing up. and he has been happy doing his own thing producing other bands in the UK. Dave went to art school.

You sayed that nice! You're right, but..... I think Bush isn't today energetic as before year 2002. And that is shame. Yes, Gavin is now older, but there is many rock musician that is older than he... It's maybe thing of ''person status'', he is now too much calm. I wish him it, but I am simple Bush fan that like in first energy. And a quality of The Sea Of Memories is (in my opinion) also debatable....

Never been a fan of his “wifebeater” look, but I get that he’s gotta cultivate his female fan base 😜. Pretty good song, though. Still, I’ve had a hard time getting into Bush’s albums of the 2000s even though I loved pretty much every song on their first four albums. The music is still better than most of what’s popular these days, IMHO. But it just doesn’t feel like Bush anymore. Rather, it feels like Gavin + backing band. I think Nigel was as responsible for Bush’s distinctive sound as Gavin, and I really wish he would return. Anyone know why he hasn’t? Don’t get me wrong-the new guitarist is great, but it just doesn’t feel like Bush anymore. Maybe I’m just set in my ways and stuck in the 90s...
