A quality knife there Ash. I couldn't possibly justify the outlay for one. I have a Mora Knife for which I made a leather sheath with ferro rod sleeve (as I have for both my sons). I have also made a foraging pouch (which I use as more of a "dump" pouch). I have also made various other leather and canvas outdoor/ EDC pieces. ie. Ditty bags, sit mats, thermal mug/ beer bottle handles, phone envelopes... Really enjoying the outdoor subset. *salutes

I have several Bush knives from suiss to vintage. Useful and sturdy. But a sharpening stone is a must to have.

Very nice knife Ash. I have quite a few knives for camping hiking and hunting. Each having its own specific task. My hunting knives are smaller and more manageable for gutting and skinning. But I have a few like yours for general camp use. I also have quite few folding knives. Case, Buck and one of my favorites,the Opinel. Cheers Ron

I'm not really into it now but I used to be a complete 'hike nut', from 13 to about 36 (I don't know what happened, the love for it just faded) and one of my nuttiest purchase was a Alan Wood Bushlore knife, I think Ray Mears sells versions of it. A fantastic knife, but I was afraid to damage it, it was super expensive so I got a much cheaper Mora to do the battening & feather sticking.

Surprising the knife sheath doesn’t have an extra smaller sheath for the ferro rod that the company also produces. Hopefully there is a lanyard so one can wear it around one’s neck.

It looks like a very nice knife. I personally prefer one with a guard to avoid running my hand onto the blade accidently I have seen any number of such incidents over the years. I find my most commonly used day to day knife is a Victorinox small pocket knife which has a scissor, letter opener blade, flat head screw driver and tweezer. In the field a Ontario K-bar work well for me. You mentioned the knife under discussion would not be suitable for everyday carry in your area. I know the U.K. has strict laws different from my local. Could you please clarify what would be a legal pocket knife in the U.K.? Thank you. I have always enjoyed your channel.

Our knife (knoife) laws in Australia are very similar, you can typically carry a folding style 'pen knife' or Swiss army style. It comes down to max blade length (~75mm) blade can't be serrated or a 'flick knife' (assisted opening are banned). 'Balisong' (Butterfly style) knifes are also banned.

In the UK, the blade has to be under 3 inches and cannot be a locking type knife or switch blade. A normal pen knife is fine to carry in your pocket.

Where these knives ever actually made by human hands in Bristol England?
@TheChapsGuide Жыл бұрын
No, designed in Bristol and manufactured in Maniago, Italy.

Surely that knife is not legal to carry in the UK without good reason?

Knives over 3in cannot be carried in a public place.
