Bushbuck Of Letaba Rest Camp Video With Their Animal Call (Tragelaphus sylvaticus)
The Common Bushbuck (Tragelaphus sylvaticus), also well known as the Cape Bushbuck, is my favourite species of antelope. They are generally found in riverine vegetation, which is their preferred habitat, but in the Kruger National Park they can be found around almost all water sources and rest camps/picnic spots within the Kruger National Park.
Letaba Rest Camp is, and has been, a well know rest camp in the Kruger National Park to see the Common Bushbuck. There is a large population inside Letaba, and they are a great addition to the camp itself. The Bushbuck in Letaba roam around freely, feed and rest in Letaba. It is definitely a welcome addition to Letaba, and watching these beautiful Bushbuck is truly a blessing.
Bushbucks are a species of antelope found in Sub-Saharan Africa, belonging to the family Bovidae. They are known for their distinctive reddish-brown to dark brown coats with white stripes and spots, and their ability to adapt to a variety of habitats, from dense forests to open savannahs.
This video was filmed in Letaba Rest Camp, and in the background of this Bushbuck video, you can hear their characteristic alarm call, which is a bark, similar to that of a dog. They normally make this sound during the nocturnal hours, when they spot a predator. They are generally completely silent in the daylight hours.
We hope you enjoy the video! Please like and subscribe for more Wildlife and Kruger National Park videos and content!
