Cordage is one of the harder items to reproduce well in the outdoors and in a survival situation, it is at a premium. So, any project that we can accomplish using minimal means, such as no cordage, which makes our lives or the lives of others more comfortable is a good idea. I had a lot of fun coming up with this idea and it is a combination of several ideas put together.

Even though this is an old video I must say that I really appreciate you helping us using the metric system, since my thorough understanding of the imperial system is not so good. I often get confused with feet and inches, so thank you!

Thanks James for this hack. I've made similar chairs using lashings. Not quite as comfortable I'm sure, but less chance of loosing your pants.

You definitely need a strong pair of pants for this to work well.

Good idea. I have forgotten to bring a chair camping more than once. A block of firewood works, if you have a saw to cut one, but mainly we just break branches without cutting them to length.

Well, there's limit to how big a stick you can thread through belt loops! I think Spirit would probably be the proverbial straw etc. Lol! Thanks for watching and the comment!

Great tip, thanks! One challenge I can see would be finding a stick thick and dense enough to hold your weight, but small enough to fit the loops.
@WayPointSurvival
@WayPointSurvival 5 жыл бұрын
True. A lot of it depends on how big the belt loops are. Otherwise, it works very well and is quick and easy!

If you were good at sewing, you could make something to use and save your pants.
@WayPointSurvival
@WayPointSurvival 6 жыл бұрын
That is true! But since I always have a spare pair of pants with me when I go out on longer trips, and I don't want to carry a piece of cloth that is useful for only a seat, I just use the seat of my pants...lol.
