The Bushbox LF titanium is definitely my favorite stove. Seems to be the perfect size to keep a fire going efficiently and work well with other fuels as you said. Second to the LF would be the XL for two people or just heavier cooking uses. I also like LF for a continuing campfire after my meal. It uses much less wood than a regular camp fire. Firebox is a great stove as well, and I have three of them but, Bushbox is my favorite!

I watched a YT video that made a good case for having a rocket stove at home for cooking during emergencies. Lots of Texas residents would have been well served with a rocket stove last February. The bushcrafting information you present here is useful for everyone.

Even a relatively cheap $20 wood gasifyer stove is good for using say a wok over,they get super hot and burn efficiently.A Kelly kettle or similar would complement it for boiling water super efficiently and fast. Power out? No problem,just a few sticks needed.

Yes, a proper rocket stove is very fuel efficient and smoke free making it safe to use. Thanks

If I am not mistaken, I believe that you also have the titanium version of the largest firebox stove as well. Evidently You prefer this titanium stove over the large firebox titanium. If you don't mind, I would enjoy hearing your reasoning on your choice. I am curious because I have both stoves in Stainless steel but neither in Titanium.

Yes, I am fortunate to have all the FireBox and Bushcraft Essentials stoves in SS and titanium. If i had to only own only one stove it it would likely be the FB in Ti. Having said that, this LF hits the sweet spot in size and weight. My stove choice for the day is based on what I am cooking. The large stove will cook small meals as well as large but the small stove is limited. I think I will makes video on choosing stoves, as well as a comparison video between FB and BE. Thanks Lonnie

I have the Lf ordered in SS, I appreciate the video thank you. I found the part about the Swedish torch type setup interesting, I've used that method with my 5" wood burners with no adverse effects and great cook times, for the cost of this little burner i might not risk trying it lol. Massachusetts here, we call the leftovers diced and mixed then fried, hash(usually we use corned beef for the meat, a St Patrick’s day meal on the first incarnation of the boiled dinner). Add a fried egg on top! Beautiful

A great review good sir! I think I am going to plump for the XL in titanium. Even though I end up doing my own meals a lot even when camping with others. It will be good for the cold evenings in the UK. Hey, can't beat a bit of Bubble. I had mine today as we keep it mainly for a Boxing Day thing in my household. Although a great dish at anytime. Appreciate your videos Mark. It seems we have very good options of fine foldable stoves in both Bushcraft Essentials and Firebox. (Among other brands that I'm unaware of likely as well). I don't own any stove and am looking for the option for "If you could only own ONE" for now. Versatile choice. The Bushbox LF seems to check those marks well.

Looking at the hinges, they seem open enough to keep moving freely after loads of ash, then dirt, then pine needles, then heat, then ash... etc. I know a new BBQ grill looks awesome in the backyard until a few seasons of use! Cooking directly on top, dripping grease from your meat... greasy smoke.. looks like it should still move freely 10 years from now. I won't be hiking the Appalachian Trail, so I think the Stainless may handle warping better. Sweet design for sure!

I love bubble and squeak. When I first moved East from Onterrible I had no concept of boiled dinner. I offered my PEI family some home cured corned beef and their faces fell! To them it meant boiled dinner and they learned to loathe it when their father had corned beef. It turned out he ate the canned stuff and enjoyed it, whereas I loved par boiled dinner fried in butter then with some caraway and a bit of brown sugar added for colour and flavour. I’m happy to say that the Islanders love both my corned beef and my take on bubble and squeak as well. Try it with bratwurst or October fest sausages as well. Lovely! Thanks for sharing!

Warping and long term durability are very variable based on how the stove is used and maintained. I have had a lot of fires in mine, based on the way I use it, and it has not suffered any problems at all. Thanks for commenting

It is interesting that the Bushbox LF is rated for a 1-2 person stove bit the owner of Firebox cooks lunch for five people on one of his Nano stoves using the Swedish torch method. I love the look and design of the stoves in this video and I honestly want one but I am absolutely in love with my Nano Gen 2 in stainless.

The major point for this stove I think is it's size, at least for me. I love my FB Nano - with Swedish torch set-up it can easily go for 15-20' without much attention, but it is a bit on the small side. And the G2 is a bit on the large... If Firebox had a size in-between the Nano and the G2, I wouldn't give it a second thought. And here's where the LF comes handy - it seems just the perfect size for most occasions. I also like the larger, higher opening on the Bushbox - makes it more versatile when using optional fuels. The price of the Ti version is considerable though. For the same money I can get the bigger Ti G2... Great video BTW, I really like the fact that you share your overall experience with the stove over longer time use. Very thorough and in-depth coverage. Also like that you cover all the alternative fuel options. Thanks!

Hi Mark, does any of the two LF versions have a tendency to warp (more) ? Thanks!
@MarkYoungBushcraft2 жыл бұрын
They will both warp a small amount if the fire is hot enough. Neither seems to warp more than the other. I can say the titanium version is easier to bend back into shape if the warping bad enough to be a problem. Thanks for commenting

Mark. I’m curious why you pick this stove over the firebox stove. Ty
@thelifeofjools83843 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same, but the firebox in titanium is still double the weight of the titanium bushbox LF. For me, I'd try and accept the extra weight of the firebox because of its increased versatility...
