I'd love to buy military surplus clothing...but only wee tiny dudes join the military i guess....nothing is made big enough...I'm not huge either....6 foot 250lb....north american XL or XXL depending on who makes it...

Is the jacket a large fit. I.e large is really an extra large?

Large is more like a medium, I'd recommend to try them on if you can

Since all the new stuff is made in China the quality and sizing is always a bit off sadly, the British made gear was better quality.

Agreed, the sizing is massive on the jacket and tiny on the smock

I ended up selling it all and getting a Ridgeline smock

The best British military smocks are the gaberdine ones very light and dry fast their shower proof but not waterproof , and the older ripstop smocks,are very good qualify. Ridgeline very good gear some of the older smocks didn't breath very well but I presume they have sorted it now. Also worth a shout are Keela and levelpeaks smocks tip quality 👍🏻

Hi mate good vid, I bought some medium softie trousers and they are HUGE! I have been looking at the PCS thermal trousers and was going to buy a small. What size do you have on? I am 5'11 85kg and from the looks of thing these new ones are alot smaller, i'm thinking medium would be best.

im wearing a small there, still a bit big on me but nowhere near as big as the softie trousers, it depends on how you want to wear them really, if you want them a bit thighter go for the small, is the shop local or are you bying them online?

@@WoolysWorld thanks for the reply, i have ordered some in medium, didnt wanna risk a small just incase. They are great for wearing in your sleeping bag if it gets colder than you anticipate, and you can wear then round camp in the evenings.

wooly , just found your channel, and ive subbed, i like what you do, and you seem a sound guy, so hats of to ya, in regards to the softie jacket- does it not ride to high on your waist, as i find to keep warm you need a coat that sits low like the old style parkas so they dont ride up when sitting down etc, the little extra length helps, its hard for me to judge the length of this softie from your video, but im looking for my main thermal jacket to keep me warm under my german army gortex ,and over my wool jumper, any ideas ? as i get cold easy, cheers

For something like that I'd be looking at a buffalo or montane or snugpak smock, longer in the back and really warm, and thanks for the support, happy Christmas
