Man, you are hard core. Fighting the flu and putting out an outstanding video. Nobody would have minded if you had waited until you fully recovered. Your effort is appreciated. If ther was a bushcraft commendation medal you would win it.

This is how you train. Less than ideal conditions. Cold, wet, or under the weather. If you can train and excel under those conditions, then the real thing will be a cake walk.

I wouldn't waste time or tape, wrapping a Bic lighter. They have a shelf life, although the flint might come in handy once it dies. I carry a birthday candle, cotton ball with Vicks, magnesium rod, along with a Bic and matches, knowing the Bic can fail. Glad you mentioned shemogh and bandana. Marking ribbon doesn't take up my space or weight much, so I'd rather use that than a shemogh as a trail marker. Plus ribbon can be left behind.

A very good option for a multi tool is the MUTIFORCE the scissors, saw blade, and components are the highest quality I have seen for the price and the bit driver uses regular bits with and extension for 40 bucks it hangs with all the latest multi tools and better in some ways. It's not just an opinion it's the truth. Awesome brother! Get well!

the 1 thing i would add is a way to sharpen my knives. the multi tool has a file but a small stone or diamond sharpener would be great as things will get dull. i added a triangle file as it will get great sparks off a fero rod and touch up my tools . all fits in the old LBE fanny pack with 2 canteens with the cups and stand off bases.

Have you tried the empty Bic fire method. It works. Use the metal rim on the Bic lighter to shave plastic off the body of the Bic lighter. Then use the flint striker to ignite the shaved plastic from the body of the lighter. Thanks again for the videos. Keep up the great work.

Glad you are on, Skipper. This vid reminds me of British SAS “Shoot and Scoot” scouting missions, when teams of four could be outnumbered by 150 adversary. Scouting suddenly became survival, and it was definitely back to basics. One thing I carry for EDC is some protein-based bug repellant.

Thank you for this "under the weather" video. You offer a great deal of guidance in a concise format. I appreciate the voiceover narrative. It lets you concentrate on technique while filming, then concentrate on providing well-organized narration while editing. I like the idea of having multiple means of starting a fire. Starvation will kill me in a month or less, and dehydration will kill me in a week or less, but hypothermia will kill me in a few hours. I always carry (in addition to the usual flint/steel, ferro rod, magnifying glass, and Bic lighters) a 30-minute road flare. It works even when your hands are shaking and your fingers are numb. No fine motor skills required,; no tinder needed; it is instantaneous; wind will not blow it out; it can dry out damp fuel; and you get some heat _right now_, to thaw out your hands. Thank you again for producing this video while recovering from the flu. I wish I still had some of that "young blood." Please rest and get well. Remember to hydrate.

Congrats you have been selected among the broad road of reprobates to head straight to hell… This is the road that you’re currently on. You can claim your eternal reward by doing absolutely nothing other than what you’ve already been doing. Just keep on pursuing your sinful behavior, lying to people and scamming others and impersonating individuals in order to solicit money out of victims.… And you’ll be one of the many whom among are personally selected by God to endure His Just wrath for all eternity along with - liars, thieves, blasphemers, idolaters, fornicators, adulterers, homosexuals, covetous, those habitually drunk, verbal abusers, swindlers, unrepentant rebellious Sons of disobedience. This is who you are. Reserved for you is eternal damnation and hellfire, where the fire is never quenched and their worm never dies. If this eternal reward sounds adequate, then you can enter in by simply doing nothing. No need to sign up to participate in the sweepstakes, you’re already on the list. You’ve already met the qualifications to be a participant by rejecting Christ and swimming in your sin. To opt out - 1)confess your sins to God, 2)repent for all your transgressions, 3) seek God‘s forgiveness for all of your transgression and rebellion for all sin is against God, 4) be restored and through Jesus Christ’s atoning work upon the cross where He died for your sins - and place your faith in Him for salvation, 5)and walk in obedience to the righteousness of Christ. For a complete list of all rules and regulations read God’s word in the holy scriptures - the Bible.
