I bought a trangia triangle a while back, and as you would expect from Trangia it's a very well made piece of kit. As a pot stand it's very strong and very stable, however as a windhsield it's really quite poor. The gap between the top of the stand and the billy does allow even the slightest bit of wind to greatly reduce the efficiency. One thing i'm trying at the moment is using the triangle upside down to see if this improves performance.

I think that looks like a good setup. I already have a 12cm zebra billy and a Swedish army trangia. So only need to get the triangle. Seen them on amozon for just over £15. Great video mate keep them coming

Great set up; reliable pieces of kit! Firebox Stove (USA company) has metal clips to replace the plastic ones on the Zebra. Nice job on your videos, good to see field use reviews! Hope a good soak took care of the stuck noodles. Subscribed.

@boiledbeefandcarrots Im not so sure it would need an additional windbreak ,as the triangle itself acts as a sufficient shield from any gusts. But will let you know next time I brew up in high winds etc. Thanks for your comment

Bud, Great video. I own the 12 cm Zebra pot as well and the triangia stove but I have a different set up using the Vargo Titanium stove, which allows me to use the triangia or small wood bits like your hobo stove you show in other videos. I can also use gel fuel, or a pop can alcohol stove so there is more versatility. But, I like the simple nature of your kit mentality and I'm really enjoying your videos. Keep them coming. Just discovered you today and subbed.

A good video. I have a Zebra 12 inch billycan and several stoves (including Trangias). I have a Trangia Triangle on order. The thought occurred to me that the Triangle could be used for solid fuel in a pinch. A tin lid on the burner holder could enable you to use an Esbit tablet and even a few twigs to supplement it. What do you think?

Ps zebra billys better (esp on open fire) wth the plastic bits on handle taken of (u can put them back)

Nice vid. Isn't the can a bit big for one person? Sems like extra weight. Anyway, it seems so heigh, one portion filling half of it and a lot harder to reach the bottom. Height also affecting balance, no? Fixed handle on can seems like extra weight (you had a grip tool did you not). I would really hate to have those 3 small plates to put together securely in cold, dark conditions. Just think of that height pot standing on those...! Pots must be pretty wide to begin with to be supported on that.
@charlietango16357 жыл бұрын
Word of warning mate, don't use the Billy can on an open fire because it will melt your plastic clips, I use all 4 of my cans on the meths stoves, much cleaner.

how do you turn off the fire with the simmer cap already in the triangle?

S S One knocks the Simmer Ring fully closed with a stick/tool, to deprive the burner of oxygen.
