Nice job on the interior. I was particularly impressed with the fireplace and brick floor. Unfortunately, from what I saw, nothing was done to keep the rain from coming in through the roof. If she planned on using non-in-situ materials like the black moisture barrier on the outside, it would have been good to also put a similar layer under the shakes she made for the roof, then she would stay dry when it rains. I still like watching these type of videos though. Primitive technology who popularize this type of craft is one of the legit channels that do bushcraft. A few Asian countries after Primitive technology's channel take off noticed an opportunity to make some money. These type of videos start popping up all over the play with some really neat structures while trying to make it look like a one or two man crew did all the building. Many of these videos have been proven to be staged with a large team and modern equipment being used. I still like the idea that hey I could do that.

That's the most awesome looking swimming pool I've ever seen. She just needs a rain so it will fill up.

No measuring, no leveling, no cutting, just eyeballing everything and it comes out perfectly. Must be nice!

all the measuring, leveling, cutting are done off camera by her crew and when they are ready she comes out for her few minutes of on camera time.

@@heathen-heart exactly they show her cutting one log and then hammering a bunch of nails and for most of the video it’s kind of comical how people think that she actually does this all herself when they had probably a backhoe on site and a bunch of power tools just out of range go figure

Agreed, she didn't do this alone nor is this true bushcraft skill. I DO build stuff like this and I'm telling you a lot of those materials look far to good or uniform to just have been "found" out there. I just don't buy it. All in all it is a nice shelter, well at least until it rains and the walls cave in as it becomes a mud puddle lol.

i watch a large amount of these videos and never have a girl doing any of this stuff, which is awesome. Kudos to you

Now if I could just see the five sweaty men actually doing the work, it would be a good video.

To those who think she can't have done this on her own: there is allot that can happen during a camera cut including hours or days of work. Editing just may make it look like one day.
@Eccohawk Жыл бұрын
I don't think anyone is saying she couldn't have done it on her own. But the way it's presented is fairly disingenuous. The day pack hanging from the same tree branch despite it being obvious this took weeks to excavate, fell the wood, (drive to home Depot and pick up pavers...) and assemble it all. There's the fact she's in the same exact clothes with the same hairdo/hat, and somehow managed to stay clean inside of a CLAY PIT. Her shoes weren't even dirty. The fact this video is labeled as building a 'shelter'...sorry but a shelter is something you can assemble within 1-2 days at most, in order to protect oneself from the elements. It's an interesting video to watch, but presenting it like someone could just casually put this together if they were trapped in the wilderness is just fantasy.

I could almost see our ancestors doing this if they had metal tools. Love your Inspiring videos. Great talent.

Our ancestors were far more technologically advanced than we are now. We've been purposely dumbed down by the educational system and indoctrinated to believe in the "cave man" scenario, and what that has done is reversed our thinking - we believe WE are the pinnacle of the ages, when in reality society and scientific knowledge has REGRESSED. For millennia, energy was harvested straight from the aether/air around us and powered everything, everywhere all the time. The His-story books are filled with lies.

Nice work alone or with some help but the first heavy rain will turn the place to a covered swimming pool through the stairs and the stove pipe

a totally mindblowing amount of work and it all comes out so beautiful. as a builder (who has made every mistake imaginable), it's important for me to remember that this is a job that a) took a very long time to do, b) is mostly for entertainment purposes, and c) misses some key elements of proper construction but can easily be overlooked when the video and building process were not meant to be your average off grid home. Much appreciated!! new sub.
