I kept my distance, but it’s been like that for the last 20 years! The slip clutch has shifted out of alignment. When I get to changing the gear box bottom seal I’ll take care of the drive line too…. Maybe in another 20 or so..

That brush hog May not be pretty, but man it sure is doing a fine job.

I need to go through the gear box and fix the bottom seal, it could use some new plate on top and definitely a new drive shaft!

My Case 900 had that same issue at the fair this year, was blowing oil out the exhaust...put the disc behind it and worked her for 2-3 hours, not blowing it out the exhaust but still using oil, so something still going on

The diesel engines of this time were made to work! I think any indirect injection engine has to have a lot of heat to do a complete burn. I’m going to make a effort to not idle as much, that’s how it starts wet stacking, I’m going to change the thermostat to the hottest one I can get too. Oil level is rock solid, it will get a little blow by when it first gets a load on the engine, I think it’s because of all the condensation burning off the crank case though, it totally quit after a few minutes. I’m looking for a plowing event around here that might have a trip plow to use.

@@Recommended_by_Fred Supposed to be a plowday in Rosedale on the 14th of October and then supposedly one coming up in the Vincennes area, but not entirely sure about that one. I'd let ya use my 2 bottom MM plow but I think it needs some new points

@@ImDirtyDan96 i think I have found a plow today, a two bottom. I’m keeping a eye out for a 3, if I had hydraulics I have a good 3 bottom John Deere plow.

Squatch had a video on taking old gauges and swapping in newer internals I’m pretty sure it was on his d2 build might look through his playlist and see if you could do something similar and get your gauges working properly and they would have the right look great video thanks for sharing Was it just me or is the pto shaft bent on the bush hog looks like it moves alot when the camera is on the bush hog view

I seen the Squatch video where he bought new cat gauges and replaced the faces to make them correct for the older tractor. I don’t have the old gauges to rob the parts from so that don’t do me any good. Good idea though! I will get something more accurate soon. That drive shaft definitely needs a new home in the scrap bin! I’m hoping I can rob one from some old equipment that’s laying around a retrofit it to this unit. I think a complete rebuild is in order for the old thing, it’s worth putting some money into, that gear box didn’t make to much noise when the camera was right down beside it so it must be pretty good.
