I used to attend the yearly Western Electric picnic at Bushkill and even played in a band there as a child. I remember Birch Beer and the Penny Arcade with the tickets to present for prizes, The Wild Mouse, The Barrel, Whip, and the smell of the fountain. Last visited in 2004 and 2006 with my own kids. I believe if the floods would not have occurred, it would still be there. Thank you for posting this and bringing back fond memories InspectorJoe.

This is really sad. I remember riding this time and time again as a child. I have so many good memories from Bushkill Park and the carousel was always my favorite ride there. Thank you for capturing this moment.

My family and my friends are in this video. It was indeed the saddest day ever. All that energy the “Friends of BPC” spent trying to keep it at the park, and then it was over. So fast, but they had closed the park almost an hour beforehand. No one wanted the night to end. Thank for postings this.

It's sad how they just shut the band organ off before the carousel even stopped moving. Like they were in a hurry to be done with it. :( So sad that this happened to so many amusement parks...

So sad, this was the first time I ever seen this video. So many childhood memories in that park, Rollerskating parities, nightmare from the Haunted House and of course riding the Merry go round with my Dad

I rode this as a child, visiting my Grandmother in the 1960's-70's. Only carousel I can recall that had two organs. Wonderful park, a really nifty funhouse.

The Park still exists, but it hasn't opened the past two seasons. It's now in its third winter of 'abandonment' and is deteriorating. I shot some video of it last month. I'll upload it in the next day or two.

How is this possible? How *DID* the Centreville carousel *EXISTED* in Bushkill Park even thought the Long carousel was still in operation at the time.

@anglerfly Not really... Officer of the day is a bit slower. But they are both on the same roll.

I got very emotional watching this video. I can't believe I found a video of Bushkill park on KZbin. I can't bare look at the park when I drive by it. I wish it could be fixed. I would do whatever to help but they'll probably tear it down and build houses because Easton just needs more houses built, yeah right!.

It's sad to see a place where so much fun for so many years close down. I never been there but it just reminds me of a better time when maybe someone got a first kiss from their girl or held hands for the first time just seems like a place in time when there was less to worry about at least for me.
