4 nights camping in the woods at the Bushcraft Show. 5 of us all contributed to the camp. Cooking on the fire, whittling, spoon carving, fire lighting, bow drills, rib eye steaks, hammock and tent camping, beers, bacon breakfasts, chair building, lighting and an actual woodland shower (the show messed up and there weren’t any).
A fantastic long weekend in awesome company meeting old friends and making new. Adventure is Made, TA Outdoors, Haze Outdoors, Firecraft to name but a few but Xia became Blues best friend and deserves a special mention for her kindness and time with Blue. A lovely girl camping out with her dad.

It’s such a calm atmosphere at the show and in the woods. Blue loved it especially because the nearest other person to our camp was a girl that played with blue constantly. A very happy place to be amongst friends 😊😊😊

I do really miss camping.. Even though what I did could barely be considered camping when there is 12 people, pulling 4 trailers and a 3 tonne truck all loaded up with gear.. We 5 Star camped-with grass involved! But damn I miss the quiet of the night, while sitting around a fire, sucking down a beer.. Waking up in the morning to wander away, through the damn grounds, to take a pee while trying to not wake anyone else up. Damn good times to be had.

I had a lovely circular walk from High Crag down to Glasshouses, following the river up to Pateley Bridge and back along Guise Cliff. Surprisingly, Guise Cliff wood was very quiet. I heard that referred to as a zombie fire the other year on a news item about wild fires in the boreal forests of Siberia in summer months. The roots stay a light and the fire spreads beneath ground. Crazy!

Really good video. My sister and her old man have a coffee wagon at the bushcraft show every year. I'm fairly new to the whole hiking and camping game but I will be there for the 2022 show (free coffee is always a big draw) . I hope to get the chance to meet both you and Blue. I used dyneema climbing straps (can be quite expensive) which are super tough so act as the tree huggers as well. I’d go for 8-10mm. Definitely no more as they are ridiculously strong. Thanks

Often I don’t tie him up and he won’t leave me but at the Bushcraft Show I had him tied just because other people are around. He’s a good guard dog and will let me know if something is around.

Hi I'm sure you guys are awesome , but I only have one guestion , WHY WOULD YOU GO TO THE WOODS AND FRY A STEAK, makes no sense to me , I see a lot of people do it , I just don't get it , steak is SO much better grilled . Am I missing something !??? I don't get it , I don't understand , I can fry a steak at home on the stove , " I would never fry a steak , even at home on the stove " it's much better grilled , and to expensive , to wast . So is it just easier ?? More convenient, or is thier another reason ???
