good nakey nake vid . bushmaster is my 3rd favorite venemous snake; 1.water moccasin 2.malaysian king cobra 3.bushmaster 4.mangshen viper 5. (tie) mojave rattlesnake & boomslang honorable mentions (5) 6. cape cobra 7. mambas ( black & green) 8. belchers sea snake aka broad banded water snake 9. Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake 10. Taipans ( inland, png, coastal) ..... im also fond of canebreaks/timber rattlers (same thing) and (non venemous )-ball pythons (smaller ones) i love serpents but i have a legit phobia embedded in some our dna are "phobias" ..... if you will. Our ancestors over time learned certain things meant almost certain death and so over time phobias developed. phobia of crowds = ancient wartime, awareness, hypervigilance, hunting, running from predators & having to have complete awareness of your surroundings and often will result in a panic or anxiety attack( anxiety attack is pre-meditated while panic is sudden). phobia of heights needs no explaining. phobia of open water= drowning, dangerous fish, riptides, waves, currents, jellies etc..phobia of enclosed spaces gives the feeling of suffocation on a psychosomatic level, a feeling of being trapped, in jail, or buried alive. Phobia of spiders and their potentially deadly venom.(u know crabs and lobsters are water spiders?) There are alot of things we are deathly afraid of but some are phobias some are just extreme fear. Like my worst nightmare is a tsunami (1000 ft. wall of water like Latoya bay, Alaska.) but that isnt a phobia or a grizzly bear too....no phobia just wicked fear. Demons & spirits are pure fear not a phobia i would imagine. I have pretty much all of them except claustrophobia(fear of enclosed spaces). Early humans had very little to work with and had to adapt real quick (evolution) or get eaten, freeze, starve, die from exposure etc...

A black mamba is the second longest venomous snake in the world, growing to a length of 15 feet. The bushmaster is obviously a thicker bodied snake, but not in length. It is however a strikingly beautiful beast!!!

Maybe a naïve question,. In the 5 lachesis types, does the venom differ, i.e. the lachesis muta from the lachesis chocoan, acrochorda and so on. They are so wide spread I wondered if what they eat and seek changes the venom from region to region. I know you posted this a year ago. I'm just catching up and still learning:)

In Brazil, the popular name of the bushmaster is 'surucucu pico-de-jaca'. Surucucu means "that bites too much" in Tupi language. Pico-de-jaca means "peak-of-jackfruit", a fruit which has a hard skin and with several peaks.

I remember when I was around 13, my father brought us to the virgin jungle where he was working (San Martin-Peru). My 2 brothers and my sister (I was the oldest, we were 8-13 years old) enjoyed catching blue-green toads, giants ants "Isula", huge snails "Churo", crabs and dozens of insects (including tarantulas), but we were expecting for a huge wild snake. Unfortunately, we just spotted a "loro machaco", an intense green tree snake (poisonous of course but not a big one), just saw without trying to touch it. One day one of the workers brought a dead Shushupe to the camp, its head was thick and heavy and we were astonished about its killing arsenal: 2 lines of several retractile fangs (I though snakes had only 2). They are incredible creatures and must be respected, unfortunately people in the amazon kill them because they say that Shushupe follows you in the forest, that they can smell you like dogs; those "selvaticos" say that if a Shushupe follows you, first take off your shirt and leave it there to distract them and run away. Historias de mi selva, mi selva querida......... (Stories from my jungle, my beloved jungle)

That snake is clearly suffering from a respiratory infection. Continuously puffing out its throat and at one point there are even bubbles expressed from its nostrils/mouth. Makes me wonder how long this one had been in captivity before filming. I’ve worked with many bushmasters and they are notorious for contracting respiratory infections after heavy stress after being captured.

These older vlog/videos are great in & of themselves but I feel like you were trying to make a documentary-style video like how they’re typically done, I love that you moved out of that & you now show your personality & passion & your POV adventures front & center! They’re so much more fun & exciting because you are seriously the best vlogger I’ve ever seen & your personality is the best part so it’s so much more special getting to see that. Your older videos are great but they’re like any other documentary you can find & they don’t capture the fun & excitement as much, but your vlogs now are a truly unique experience that no other filmmaker or youtuber is able to replicate! I’m so proud of how far you’ve come, your videos are an utter delight in my life 💚🐍 thank you Dav

What I love about that snake is if you get bit by that snake you still have an 80% chance of dying even if you get Anti-Venom 80% chance and if you do live the body part that he bit you in hand they put you know it's going to rot off if you don't have it amputated that's like the Ferd delance if it bites you you have a good chance of living because that's the one snake that bites most people down there so they got a lot of Antigone of that as long as you're in towards the cities you're out in the bush if you don't carry your own Anti-Venom you're crazy cuz it's better to have it and not use it then need it and not have it so you could use it and you die but even those snakes whatever they bite it rots but they're venom it's weird it can light bite you in the right hand and your left hand will start The Rock stuff is weird or at least that's what show said that was talking about those type of snakes so I'm just repeat what I heard so if it's wrong hey I'm just repeating what I heard somebody I'll say and if it's right yeah that's one snake I never screw with but the black-headed Bushmaster I'm sorry by far that is the coolest snake that graces this planet because you can look at them they're like a king cobra they're intelligent snakes you can see that they're actually looking at you and going okay what are you going to do I got you I see you you screw up I'll bite the living piss out of you and they got some big things boy rattlesnake things ain't nothing compared to those they got big things yes I love that snake if I knew how to handle one and I had the money I don't want but I don't have the money and I don't have the knowledge so yeah I'm not stupid enough to buy something and not have the knowledge to mess with it like some people are
