find it a bit contradictory that while Bushra rambles about her discomfort with showing physical violence on tv and yet her latest drama was ridden with slaps, suicide, and what not. Similarly Mira claims to dislike plays which show women getting slapped and beaten, yet her character in Yeh Dil Mera was beaten by belts by her husband played by Adnan Siddiqui. It would have been great if both of you also tried to achieve the standards you aspire to. In any case it’s a fundamental human flaw to have a rift between one’s ideals and practice. Botg of you are respectable anyway.

The tuning that she’s talking about...when will it be created on screen for our generation? Clearly the television is not playing a role in tuning our audiences to 10 mins monologue. Instead, they normalise abuse and blame the audience for watching their ‘tuned’ ‘normalised’ shitty content. Television has lost its soul because social issues are exploited for TRPs with no sense of direction or empathy for triggered victims. Change needs to be made from top down, starting with producers and channel content heads.
