There is a place across the creek from me with just 2 acres, that I almost bought. It was bought by a couple from out of the area and they are doing the same thing you are. They use this house as a base for riding atvs, they gutted the inside and are now replacing the seals, it's closed up with heat and they now stay there while they work. Great video Dave, can't wait for the series of fixing this up.

That's how I get rid of all my old trailers while I restore them. Slowly it all goes through the burn barrel. Yeah, although there's also value to the experience of the renovation and the revenue from the videos. Dragging in a modular home would make one video, while gutting and putting back together the existing building could easily result in a dozen videos.

@@rallysport4207 no matter what you do it's going to cost money. Going out to buy a box of nails costs money. What matters is what you end up with for the money though.

@@1pcfred I can pay for nails and boards out of pocket or refurbish old things torn down and spend less money… given the choice between rebuilding and buying new I’ll rebuild anyday. Less money out means less time I have to work my tail off to make someone else rich… but I respect your opinion

Not telling you what to do, because I am by far much dumber than the average person, but you might want to look into the lights that the Amish use in their homes. Apparently they churn out some warmth and it could offer you some warmth and light and flexibility on moving that light/heat to different areas of the house in case you need to block off the main heat space. Thank you and your family for sharing your journeys.
