Mate that's a really nice bit of kit. I looked at one a while back but ended up buying the SnowPeak fire pit because I needed the extra heat output for my trips up to Scandinavia in the colder months. But the Atago is awesome, I really like the way it partners up with the dutch oven; a truly versatile unit. I'd buy one but the wife won't let me. 👍

Got one not that long ago, it is perfect if you need a smokeless fire for getting your coals started and don‘t want to burn the ground. Ideal for the garden/ terrace.

I will buy one only if it comes with Mrs B's cookbook. My handbrake can burn a salad, bless her lol. We have never seen anything like this down here mate, Aussies are a pretty rough bunch when it comes to bush camping and overlanding in the outback. Most portable fire pits are either steel washing machine drums on legs or truck rims. Good bit of gear for sure. Enjoy.

Steve in the US we have the Volcano grill. You can get it with a propane burner too. I bought one a few years ago and we use it all the time on camping trips. It’s great for Dutch oven cooking with the Volcano lid.

One can only say that it is a petromax that works, it is actually so good that BBQ pit boys dot com has just lost Martha, she has started looking for the Sherwood forests UK. But you forgot to show how it folds after use, otherwise a super piece of kit. 👍

Hi lm from Canada. In north America we a product that's called the valcano grill that runs at about $170,00 that's identical to the petromax atago. You can also use propane as well as charcoal and wood. You can get them at valcano grills .com. They sell a dutch oven, oven cover, and reversible griddle grill plate that fits on top and a regular for one pound propane bottle. I've been wanting one for years, to use at home and camping.

That grill/fire pit is a Volcano Grill 3 and they have been sold here in the USA forever! It seems odd that it looks identical. Like one is a knock off. I have a cookbook from the early 80s with an OG Volcano Grill... looked online for origination info on this grill and it looks like they just stole the design and started putting them out recently.

I hear you, it is pricey but it is also one of the most versitile mobile kitchen/ fireplatforms that I know of. I didn’t regret the purchase but you‘d also consider that you will burn a lot of wood and coals with this because it is so much fun. Hope this is of help to you.

I just learnd, that the newly produced ATAGOs are made in China but with German Quality Assurance :-) The "German" produced one have the MADE IN GERMANY label on it, while the chinese have not... But production has stopped in Germany But I guess, there is no difference in functionality. I checked mine, and it has no MADE IN GERMANY on it, shame :-)

I am pretty sure this thing is a clone of the volcano 3 in 1 grill from volcano grills. This one doesn't even have the propane insert or the heat resistant oven bag that you will get with the original volcano grills product.
