Did anyone not notice that he switched the cards (left and right) around 2:30, and showed the opposite cards when comparing??

Ah…yes, from 2:38 to 2:53. Good thing he gives a closer, accurate comparison after that. 🙂👍

Helpful indeed. Thanks man. Really nice zooming in and showing what it really looks like. Vistaprint has a softer back always, its because of the paper processing, so its not really something abnormal. The trick i use is to design the front part as it was the back part, that way you get the best out of it. ;)

Thanks for the tips man! I'm still enjoying these cards from Vistaprint. Not sure you saw my comment but I've since gone to a color back and they look great - www.dropbox.com/sh/2yfkg830kqc6kkn/AABSeOeYEgNP9ZaBWg97tq5La?dl=0

UPDATE: (posted from a review on Vistaprint) Another company, taking a great product and discontinuing it. Why, who knows. I can put my money on profits. I've ordered the old Ultra Thick Cards multiple times. And some of those orders were in bulk. What does that mean? Well it means that some orders were 500 cards. Now I don't go thru that many cards a year so I've had a few in storage for 1-3 years. Some about 5 years. Should a premium card last 1 year, 2 years, 3? What's acceptable for a quality card. Well, a lot of the cards I've ordered 2 years ago have now come apart. The glue has dried and become brittle. If you fold the cards, you will simply hear a 'crack' sound and now you have 2 cards in your hand, a front and a back. Poof, magic, you go from one to two. With the age of my cards, customer service wasn't able to offer a replacement at a discounted rate. What irks me is that this is only good for orders less than 1 year in age. So you're telling me that the glue used in premium cards should only last 1 year? Looks like I'm going to update my KZbin review 'Business Card Review: MOO Luxe vs. Vistaprint Ultra Thick' to let people know about this issue. And no thanks in regards to a new cheaper glossy version.

That black ply in the center of the MOO card -- I don't see why that is desirable. I actually prefer the solid continuous white of the Vistaprint. Thanks for your video, Jay.

My pleasure. I think it's simply personal taste. I like it. I did find out the Vistaprint cards are actually 2 cards glued together as well. But my previous few orders from them have been right on. I'm pretty happy with the quality and cost.
@LoskiTheFirst2 жыл бұрын
Interesting that you say that about Moo.. Someone gave me their card and it separated.
@JayMarroquin2 жыл бұрын
It's been years since I had MOO's. In the end though, I think people are going to get the same separating results from either. The process is basically the same, take two cards and glue them together. The MOO's might just use better glue. I'm sure how you store and handle them, the age, etc will also play a huge factor. I'm in Houston, TX where it's like 102 degrees right now and humidity in the 80's. Shit left in the car just toasts. If I can find a think paper stock based card that is from 1 cut of paper, I'm going to go with that the next round of designs.
@LoskiTheFirst2 жыл бұрын
@@JayMarroquin Thanks for the update, so there's no way around it when ordering the thick cards?
@JayMarroquin2 жыл бұрын
@@LoskiTheFirst Well not that I can think of for the current moment. Some of my original thick Vista Print cards are still good. Others have hardened. It's pretty embarrassing when you hand a client a card and it unglues itself 😂. I started doing a flex test. I simply grab both sides and flex it up and down. If the glue is old I will literally hear it crack and then it will separate. If the glue is good it will bend back and forth with no issues.

Thanks for this comparison Jay. This is exactly what I was looking for. Moo is very expensive, so it's nice to have a cheaper option to offer my clients. I always advice against Vistaprint because the quality was crap when I used them in the past. Their customer service is absolutely horrible as well... most of the employees can't speak or understand English, and they are unable to answer basic printing questions. Uprinting is even worse. With that said, these thick Vistaprint cards do look pretty decent. The price is definitely appealing. I'm just nervous using them for client projects. I've had numerous problems with them shipping cards that were printed off centered or with gradient banding. Maybe they've improved over the years with the improvements with digital printing. I too have experienced the Moo Luxe cards splitting. For the price, this should not be happening. The split cards I've seen were barely handled and never exposed to heat. I've never really been a fan of the middle stripe of color. I wish Moo offered an edge color that covered the entire edge of the card. Anyway... thanks for this video. It was very helpful to see the comparison.

I need to change the setting on my KZbin channel to notify me of replies. Thanks for the great feedback. Well it's been about 8 months since I first purchased the VistaPrint cards. Since that time I've placed 3 more orders. I think a follow-up video is in order. I did find out the VistaPrint cards are also 2 cards glued together because I had a few split. I live in Houston, Texas and we have brutal summers. The ones that split were left in my car so not too worried about that anymore. I did change the design of the back of my card to color with some client logos so will give feedback on those. The first order I received was great but the font just wasn't clear like before. It was a bit blurry and just not sharp. I called VistaPrint but I had a totally different experience. They were great, even though it was some girl in India or somewhere with a strong accent. She took the time to go thru the whole order with me. For some reason, the MOST important thing to do with VistaPrint is look at the actual PDF review they send you to sign off on. Not the smaller review/sampe for the order. She sent me a link to the Proof you have to approve and I could even see there that it wasn't clear. She couldn't explain why, but she asked me to upload my PDF design file and I did. This time super clear. She covered the cost of replacement cards. The ones I received were great and I'm still happy. I also ordered some new cards for another business I have. Made sure the PROOF PDF was good and bam, excellent cards. She also gave me a 50% off code that I actually think doesn't expire. If you want it, message me or something :)

You can upload any possible image you want on vistaprint website in the designing process..just be sure to use the own designing tools there. Find the icons on google, copy past them on your desktop and then upload on vista. You can crop and zoom and whatever...

Thanks Jesse. I would like to provide an update and say that my latest batch of Vistaprint Ultra Thick cards were horrible and I wouldn't suggest them. They have gone away from the premium paper matte paper feeling stock to some cheap shiny plastic type material. I had some issues with my paper ones simply coming apart and I called them to complain. They sent out these new plastic type ones instead which are even worse.

MGTOW From my actual experience. I have had nothing but the best customer service from VistaPrint. The one time I had an issue (my fault on the design), VistaPrint helped me fix me files and then sent me the corrected business cards at no cost with expedited shipping. My current business cards still look fantastic. Especially my new color designs that are linked in description.
