VIA rail’s Siemens Venture cars are much better than Amtrak’s. VIA also has a way better business class service than Amtrak. The staff are very attending to the customers. Amtrak does not do that at all

Very Cool Lion! (It's William) Too bad you got no CP action on the Vaudreuil Sub next to you.

Interior detailing on the Siemens trainsets looks warmer than the Amtrak Airo for replacement of corridor services using 70s & 80s era Amfleet stock - colours, materials, etc. I just hope Siemens offers color temperature calibration on the overhead lighting! The cool white LED lighting they do these days is harsh and uninviting.

Was it faster than the old trains ?
@OntarioTrafficMan2 жыл бұрын
The top speed of these trains is 200 km/h, compared to 177 km/h for the previous locomotives. However the highest speed limit on the Canadian rail network is only 160 km/h so that doesn't really make a difference. I have heard through word of mouth that these trains have obtained a higher speed certification than the previous trains which allows them to travel slightly faster in certain areas (but still not above 160 km/h).
@lionliu05082 жыл бұрын
Not in current operation, my train hasn’t even exceeded 95mph on Alexandria Sub at the same time my LRC set done 100 mph on some part of Kingston
@OntarioTrafficMan2 жыл бұрын
@@lionliu0508 Most of the corridor is 95 mph for standard passenger trains (such as P42+LRC) but the Siemens trains are approved for 100 mph in many of those places. Like I said, there is still no place in Canada with a speed limit above 100 mph.
@roger18182 жыл бұрын
One way they will be faster is since they are bi-directional, they won’t need to wye at Montreal when traveling between Quebec City and Ottawa (though I heard a rumour that they will continue to wye until they finish upgrading their reservation system).
@lionliu05082 жыл бұрын
@@roger1818 they didn’t wye at Ottawa, and the seating was completely messed up on 26.
