We caught that same flight a couple of months ago...we were glad to see any lounge that late in the evening! They also had screening at the gate asking people if they had any liquids in their bags and they were searching bags. IDK. Lovely flight and I love Polaris. I slept about 7 hours on the flight.

BTW in my opinion Delta one has a better menu on their JFK- TLV than polaris. Their menu is definitely Israeli based. Plus now their partnership with EL AL gives you more options and will be up to par. EL AL before the war planned flights to Seatle also

That would be unreal. Although knowing United I bet they'd give us a 757 with the old seats before anything else... For the time being looks like Aer Lingus is the only true business class we got!

Well seems like ages ago and different time. Here's to peace and for the flight resumption. United plans to resume Israel operations in a little over a month, United polaris is wonderful. Dan lounge is really poor. Last time skipped it completely. Now Ben Gurion is a ghost town with maybe 20% of average passengers flying through it basically nothing down to EL AL only. Hope you are ok with your hand and you enjoyed Israel

Haha - good question. Surprisingly, no. I think it was a combination of overnight flight (cabin being pretty dim the whole time), retro AA logo (perhaps it wasn't as easily recognized) and the crew being more drawn to my cast than anything else lol

Ya know, post-COVID it is sad to see that UA hasn't upped their Business soft product. It's tacky and a poor presentation putting the entire meal on one tray. I'm retired from CO (pilot) and in the early 2000s although the seats were different (not lie-flat, but comfortable) the service was exceptional. WHITE table linens, more meal courses and the sundaes served from a cart in the aisle. Of course, during the pandemic FAs grew accustomed to much less "work" service wise. Not just at UA. Might be hard to bring standards back up.
