Hi. It's a practical approach to mention the situation so that we can know where to use these phrases precisely. Thanks.

1. As the team wanted to keep the discussion brief , they did a brief check-in, got to the point and tabled the discussion soon. 2. The manager cut to the chase and informed them was needed to streamline the process ,taking the big picture in mind.

Thanks so much for your kind message! It's actually a very common issue - most people can understand a lot of words in a 2nd language, but struggle with speaking. It's usually because when you are a student, you listen and read *a lot*. Teachers talk to you, there are podcasts, audiobooks, KZbin videos and grammar textbooks etc etc. This is important useful, but this method is only training your "receptive" skills. Speaking, however, is a "productive" skill. The only way to improve a productive skill is to produce! My own method is to take a single sentence (with a structure or word I really want to remember) and repeat it and repeat it and repeat it and repeat. And also write it and write it and write it and write it again and again until it comes out quickly and naturally. I take a break (of 1 or 2 days), then do it again. After some time, it does start to "stick" and I can produce it quickly and under a bit of pressure (someone looking at me!). It sounds quite old school, but it works for me. It's really still the best way to practice productive skills, especially if you don't have a native speaker or a partner to practice with often. I hope some of that helps!

Hi teachers, is there any episode about Thanksgiving ? Thankk you in advance !
@highlevellistening2 күн бұрын
Hello! Sadly we didn't have time to record a Thanksgiving episode this time round. It's only celebrated in the US in November (they also celebrate it in Canada but in October), and in the UK it's not a thing at all! We'll try to make an episode where Kat can teach us about it next year :)

Thank you a lot I find them a little confusing 😢 If I work at a company, do I need to use such phrases all the time , of course, English is easier out of these phrases . Thank you I wanna try to repeat them till they become familiar to me . Thank you 🎉

Hi there good morning! What I’ve noticed at work is that some people use these phrases more often and some people use them less often. Even if you don’t use them every day, they’re very common to hear around the office and in emails, so they’re good to know! We’ll help you along the way, making sure you feel comfortable and confident in using them in the future ☺️
