Yes. Atleast in Bharat, Running an Airline is normally a loss making business, unless you are in the 1st or 2nd position. Apart from the fact that during last 10 years more than 75. Airports are built, are the travellers ready to shell that additional amount for Air travel that too on a regular basis so that the airports are atleast recovering 70% of their costs? Otherwise it would just be another hype. Unless the manufacturing sector increases, need for Air travel doesn't go up that quickly. Or it has to be a big economic hub like Bengaluru where the IT and peripheral services sector is very strong.

I personally don't prefer to travel in IndiGo. Their services have become worst. Their cabin crew behaviour is very rider sometimes. The washrooms are also not clean. Food is prepared cold and expensive. Also the seats are full of dust and uncomfortable.

God feedback. One more issue which contributes to Indigo's apparently successful run. Indigo insists that the aircraft or engine suppliers carry the spares inventory themselves which should be supplied on call to Indigo. That way Indigo saves huge costs on inventories which, I led to believe, contributes to over 10 to 15% of the bottom line. However, on the flip side the new Air India management is deriving on the expertise of their partner Singapore Airlines to gradually gain market share and improve their own bottom line.

An airplane uses 4 litre of fuel per second while it flies and fills upto 3,50,000 litres in full tank . While male crew is musculine and heavy, female crew is light weighted. Which saves fuel.
