I just finished a cybersecurity program at a reputable university. Companies don't give me a job because they want a "senior" cyber engineer with 5-10 years of experience. Yet, they don't mind paying 20 million dollars as ransom to cyber criminals, hoping the criminals would restore their systems.

Hang in there. Try to target entry-level roles at non-tech companies or managed service providers. Once you have one to two years of experience and get some certs, you can pivot to bigger and more lucrative roles.
