I love how excited the scientists are to talk about what they do! I mean, everyone gets excited to talk anout about what they do when they get a chance. I love that they've been given the chance to enlighten us about the things that they love so much.

I had not noticed the length of this video and checked with only 10 minutes left! Back in the 70s (yes, I'm old!) every magazine had an article on interesting subjects to start conversations at cocktail parties. This video would have been the Bible for every attendee!! 😊💗

Anyone has a good reason why they don't put a big net over the lake (let's say 10m above the surface), instead of hiring people for year round? I presume it would be an engineering challenge and quite expensive, but compared to multi year salary + bullets and high tech equipment.

Seems everyone had the same thought. Obviously they did as well, there has to be a practical reason why they can't. It actually seemed pretty huge and maybe nets tangle and kill birds. Would have been nice had they covered that, there's like 10 comments abt in here so seems like a lot of people curious about it.

I would cover the water on the smaller ponds. We have millions and millions of plastic bottles going in the dump. With the lids on they will float forever practically. A couple layers of plastic bottle would keep the birds out of the water

I have an unusual job with no subordinates, no team and a line manager who is much younger than me and his only job is to meet me for 30 minutes every two weeks to ask me if I am OK. Most of the thousands of people who work in my organisation have never met me but they can ask me anything at all at any time. The main reason I can do my job is because I am old so I already know or know how to find 'lost historic data and knowledge' that is not on the internet or in databases. I am sometimes asked about the future, things that have not yet been invented but will still physically exist in 50 years time. It's a very unusual job and I never know what the next question will be when I go to work each day. The only downside is I feel lonely sometimes.
