Indian students are not going abroad for studies in the true sense. Fact is that Indian youth are opting out of India seeking employment or better employment. They are reaching the host country under the guise of studies and settling there. This is a tragedy in deed. India is losing 80 billion dollars every year on this account. Whatever India earns through NRI remittances (85 billion dollars) is drained out of India by way of studies abroad by a few students. Ironically about 6 lakh students eat away the toil of about 50 lakh NRIs. - Janardhan Prasad
