The shower shoes part of the convo is super underrated. I love how lewa explained immediately the difference between white and black players. (1) although I would never assume any of the black players went to jail that culture of always having shower shoes on ( besides obvioussssss hygiene reasons) came from the penal system and the need to “stay ready”. I have seen guys inside who would literally wear there BOOTS in the showers. (2)growing up public pools was (is?) a thing in our community. A lot of different hygiene levels coming through there so you best keep your shower shoes on if you didn’t want to catch an infection. 😂😂
