This was actually a really good example of two parties being respectful to one another. I love that there's a little humor thrown in. I love that the cop was actually genuinely not trying to disrupt your day he saw something that caught his eye that could endanger you and somebody else on the road. And if you're driving that damn thing at night and your lights don't work, I can only imagine what it would be like if you're going in a zone that's 60 and you get hit because nobody can see your ass.

Props for him knowing what a Buell is. I started off with a Blast and ended up owning 2 XB9S and an XB12R. Sold them a couple years ago and went 'mainstream' with the MT07, then Tenere700 line so I wasn't forever part hunting. Loved my XB, rode it all the way to CA from TX in a day and a half.

Honestly, he wasn’t even a dick last time either. He was serious when he thought he was someone who had been running from the police, and then a decent sport who sent him with a warning for speed instead of hemming him up to try and prove himself tough. Dude’s alright.

along with dealing with idiots they have to patrol a pretty big area with backup being pretty far away most of the time so they deal with idiots pretty much by themselves most of there shift

Ok this may be a silly question, but why would you even need your headlights on? It's daytime, good weather conditions, no issues with visibility, do you have some rule requirements for bikes to be running with lights on constantly?

Its overcast. Lots of states say that your headlights must be on during overcast situations

What state are you in? Many states don't require headlights to be on if it's during the day for motorcycles.

That's strange. When there's good ambient light, my 1290 SAS does allow me to run the 'DRL' on during the day which has the low beam off. When the ambient light is low enough, it'll turn on the low beam but not change the TFT to 'night mode'. Then when the ambient light gets even darker, the TFT will change over to 'night mode' and obviously the low beams are on. Hope that makes sense.
