So in reference to you saying Mew EX makes ditto look dumb, if you're not aware, there is speculative lore that Ditto is and are the failed clones of Mew. Mewtwo was created from Mew and Mew shares the DNA of all pokémon and since Ditto shares the same stat line in the video games, the same pink color, the same light blue shiny version, and is the only other pokémon that can learn transform, a lot of people speculate that the Dittos of the world are failed Mews clones. Also there's only one location where you can find Mewtwo in Red/Blue (at the back of a cave) and the closer you get to him, the more frequently dittos appear. Nothing cannon but it is a really interesting kind of conspiracy theory.

And the only other location in The game where ditto spawns is in the pokemon mansion where you find journal entries about mew (and i always assumed that was where they created mewtwo and it destroyed the mansion on escape

You can get Ditto otw to Fuchsia City too. I’m old enough to know fam fam 🤙🏻 I feel like you could get it in the very few grass spots otw to Victory Road as well.

Game Freak specifically responded to this theory saying that it was just a funny coincidence, and that Ditto is actually based off of the smiley face that was all over everything in the '90s. It's a cool theory, I like it, but it's not true.

I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, but in terms of lore: Mew is considered the "ancestor" of all Pokémon, and as such can learn (almost) every move in the game.

The mythical island theme isn't anything specific from the games. I think it just refers to that marshadow is also a mythical like mew.

Sadly it's not enough. He can 1 shot Pikachu and a few others with Gio (Zapdos, Starmie, and Mew), but he will be 1 shot in return by a good chunk of them (10 + Pika and Starmie with Gio) and he's worthless against non-Ex mons. For the majority of decks his 3 energy cost won't be worth the energy investment. Maybe you could afford to run him with Exeggutor or similar low cost main damage dealers, but even then he's a meta dependent gimmick card :/

I think you missed the fact that the new Exeggcute means you can play Exeggutor in any egg regardless of the energy type, since Exeggcute will give you plant energy for any neutral energy

the Mew ex is extremely similar to the same card from the paper TCG at the moment, which also has the Genome Hacking attack. The paper game has absolutely obscene draw power, and Mew ex over there has the "Restart" ability, which lets you draw until you have 3 in hand once per turn rather than that one psychic 20 damage attack. Off the top of my head, the big drawback with Genome Hacking is it does nothing against pokemon like Pikachu ex unless you're playing a lightning deck yourself; however, it also gets a huge bonus against Charizard and Mewtwo if you're not playing the same energy type as those two at the time (unless being unable to discard the energy bricks the attack in this game, which I don't believe it would, but I could be wrong)

I had a Pokémon TCG Online deck built around taking advantage of copying attacks but avoiding the drawbacks - using Liepard's Assist attack to copy my Palkia & Dialga LEGEND's Time Control attack, but since I'm not actually running Metal energy I don't have to discard everything and can do it every turn, or copying White Kyurem EX's Ice Burn without having to discard any fire :D

I feel like Ditto's effect should only require the amount of energy that the copied attack uses, instead of also requiring that it be the correct type. That would make it way more useful. As in...useful at all, in fact.

Aerodactyl being colorless and Aero EX being fighting is interesting. Wonder how often they'll move Pokemon through colors like that, I guess there's leeway with things like Aero that aren't Normal or Fighting types anyway

Sometimes it seems they pick at random which of a dual type Pokémon types will represent it in any given TCG set. Colourless Aerodactyl is from its Flying side (Flying = Colourless in the TCG) and Fighting Aerodactyl is from its Rock side (Rock = Fighting the in the TCG). Sometimes they even change which TCG type represents a type in the game - Poison was initially represented by Grass, then by Psychic, and then by Darkness, so something like Nidoking (a Poison and Ground type) has been Grass (e.g. base set), Fighting (e.g. Triumphant), Psychic (e.g. Steam Siege) and Darkness (e.g. 151) in different sets.

Marshadow hard counters Pikachu EX, no? They get one kill, you come in and one shot it - not to even mention that a fighting deck completely dumpsters them anyway. Maybe go hyper aggro and play with Primape?

Myrhical Island isnt a place, but mythical Pokemon are. Generally speaking, mythical Pokemon are normally unavailable to catch through normal gameplay and are part of limited timed distributions. Occasionally theyll add an older mythical to a game to catch as part of a cool in game event or secret, like Meloetta in Scarlet and Violet or Deoxys in the post game in Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. Mew was the first mythical, Marshadow was one in Gen 7/Alola/Sun and Moon, so i imagine we'll see a bunch more.

No, the game explicitly says that Pack Points are tied to the expansion for which you opened packs to accrue those points. Mythical Island is a different set than Genetic Apex; it's a mini set.

I'm curious about that myself. In this case I'm guessing yes since this is a mini set that is still a part of Apex Legends. When we get the next set (in January I believe) we'll have to see if the current pack points work there or not.

Ninetales looks like it will be countered hard by Mew EX - has 90 attack damage and 90 HP, Mew Ex doesn't discard and it has enough health to survive Ninetales + Blaine. Aeridacty - not sure if that's good now. Usually you try to make them on the bench, but it might start being good when you get a pokem that wants to fight a bit before evolving. I am sad they didn't do the Elite 4 ... But I love Mew EX. Mewtwo decks will be that much more powerful.

Aero cancels cards like Mankey, but yeah, a lot of other cards like Gardevoir and Greninja want to stay on the bench anyway, so I have a feeling it might be a niche card, but still difficult to tell for now. Also, I always keep an open mind in case the cards that come out in later sets make them relevant, in which case Aero has a (for now) unique effect, so I guess we'll see.

Mystical Island is not a specific place in the Pokemon world. For the most part in the tcg, the booster pack sets are vague themes inspired by the featured pokemon or new mechanics. Since Mew in the lore is an elusive pokemon that most people assume is a myth, it can be looked at as "mystical".

Trainer supporter leaf might replace x speed seeing it reduced the retreat cost by 2 this will let me play the other cards with big retreat cost now.😮 Plus the expansion is over 80 cards according to their website. 5 new trainer cards we seen 2 wondering what the other 3 are.

Replace nah just depends on the average retreat cost of your deck and how many support cards you play. I could easy see decks running her and X-speeds at the same time. I'm curious about them and what the 5th mysterious Ex will be since we know 4 already.

I guess we don't know for sure, but most interpretations I've read (and my own belief), is that the pack points will be valid until that respective set is "rotated" out in the far future. So as long as those packs are still actively available, I think the points will be safe. But do note I expect those points will only work on cards from those packs, not new packs. It would sure suck big time if they only worked for a couple months, that would make everyone VERY mad, but we don't know 100% for sure.

Also keep in mind that pack points are tied to boosters. Meaning, your Generic Apex pack points cannot be used for Mythical Island.

In the biology world, *Genome editing* is a method for making specific changes to the DNA of a cell or organism. It can be used to add, remove or alter DNA in the genome. Mew EX attack probably means it can likely "hack" ANY Pokemon energy and it not limited to one specific energy type like ditto.

There are they just haven't gotten hold of anything apparently. They found information about all sorts of upcoming events and set dates, but nothing about what's actually in the sets themselves.
