You said it best, if you run big trucks you're going to have accidents be it your fault or someone else it's just a question of when. People in cars have no idea why trucks move so slow in certain situations. I drove straight trucks for 25 years, everything from dump trucks to maggot wagons I honestly can't do it anymore more nerves are shot and I have health problems as well. The front load trash truck routes are horrible, they put the cans in alley ways and parking lots so you have to back out into live traffic blindly. I think it's good you didn't fire the driver just because if he comes to work and does a good job then maybe see about some defensive driving classes or possibly get a commercial driving instructor to give safety classes of some sort or you could find some online you can give classes on yourself to your employees. Everyone hates them but they make you think if you are paying attention. You getting caught speeding is not that big of a deal as long as you are'nt getting multiple tickets a week. 🤣 You know the cops are going to be doing some Rosco P. Coaltrane stuff to write tickets and those speeding cams and traffic light cams are cash cows. Have a good week everyone. 🚔 🚧 🚛

I learned to drive truck When I was 18 years old And fortunately Never had an accident But I sure made a lot of mistakes. One thing I can say though is I very seldom ever made the same mistake twice. It's good that you're a man that gives Second Chances.

Gm sir Justin, what an interesting video, you made as well as gave great insights and info about driving safety, driving safely and keeping a safe distance between motorists. One of the key elements that you mentioned is putting yourself firstly on the chopping block, most would have never taken accountability for their actions/ mistakes, but would be quick to point out others. I commend you for taking accountability for self and not coming down on the driver that had an accident. Like you said it could have been worse but thanks be unto God it wasn’t. Secondly but really first, like you said “ God has really been good to you guys “ and I know that he still is! You showed mercy and given grace to your employee by sitting down and explaining the how to, and what to do and look out for incase they encounter a similar situation again. Thanks for being a stand up guy godly gentleman. Continue bringing great footage,content and well needed information concerning the trucking industry sir. May God continue to shine upon you and your family and may he continue to cause you and your company to flourish and prosper.

it's a lot more than that here in Indiana I got a speeding ticket back in 2011 on a county road that was 130$. Speeding in construction sites is really bad maybe up to 500$
@Chopsltd6 ай бұрын
You always end up getting speeding tickets when you're not even trying to speed. It's just that moment you look down and see you're doing 12 miles over and you're already caught before you can slow back down.

I don't feel too bad, I got my first speeding ticket in 33 years just over a year ago, same as yours 12 over, only mine was in a school zone, 6:00 p.m. at night, no kids, but the light was flashing, got wrote up anyway.

Over here in Indiana they sent my buddies kid a $1,000 ticket for doing 5 mph over in the construction zone. It was his personal pickup. But he had to tell them online who was driving it. Plus he got points on his license.He has a cdl too. I think you done the right thing keeping the driver that jack knifed. No matter how good you are something is going to happen.

Great video. Very informative. In Maine people seem to go faster if they see construction zone signs. They drive like idiots. I’m thinking you would be a really good boss to work for. I was involved in a head on collision Aug. 2017. Company would’ve probably fired me but, about 4 months before the accident, I purchased my own dash cam. Driver told trooper I crossed the center line & hit him. The Maine State Trooper was shocked when I said I had a dash cam.

The company I am leased too had 1 driver get involved in 3 different accidents. None his fault. First one driver hit him in parking lot. Found out they had no valid insurance.. 2nd one lady blew through an intersection and hit him. Then number 3 he got hit head on by another truck. So the company had 3 trucks wiped out in like 2 months...

In your defense, I've noticed in my old age lol that newer vehicles you don't feel like you're going as fast as you are. Going with the flow is another point, Everyone is going faster now. Feels like if you're going the speed limit that you're the senior citizen with a handicap placard lol. People need to slow down and pay attention in populated areas, especially work areas

OUTLAW! welcome to the outlaw club, do get a lawyer anyway, there is many things wrong with "photo ticket" the lawyer will get the last calibration and other details. Do what ever you can to save your cdl. I got one in Georgia he said I was holding my phone but it was an electric razor. I sent a statement and photos showing what the officers POV and it was thrown out so fight it and speed safely.
