Damn, I can watch him move all day long! Love how he sits and takes a rest while the cops keep moving the ladder. I've seen him do that in Battling Butler when the men were trying to untangle him from the ropes. Pure genius!

I have a collection of his films on dvd...Never fails...I always have to pause and replay at least one scene in every one of them...and that ladder scene is a perfect example. How the $#@! did he DO that?! Amazing...

I think I can see the ladder slide across the top of the fence just a little in the very first shot, but after that it seems pretty steady, so I suspect there's an unseen pivot connecting it to the fence. But, with Keaton, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was just an ordinary ladder resting freely on an ordinary fence. The guy was phenomenal!
