Correction(s): There are actually wither and ender dragon spawn eggs. However, they made them only obtainable through /give command. That is the exact way hanging signs are crafted, perhaps check in older snapshot or see if current one is installed. Some mobs like husk can still hit you when you're on a camel, but it's just lucky hits. Camels can dash up to five blocks, and that ravine was very likely too large. If you found a smaller one, it'd work.

The new spawn eggs one is true tho but the dragon and the wither can only be obtained with commands. And i think that hanging sign crafting not working is because your not on the latest snapshot camels also do dash but you timed it very badly lol.
