I like the wolfhound but I think sheep dogs are more typical dogs found all over Ireland. You see them everywhere in farms country houses. To me black and white sheep dogs sum up the Irish character best. They are smart and full of character and keen to work.
@maryoleary20373 жыл бұрын
@@hetty43 I agree that you see plenty of Border Collie sheep dogs in Ireland. However, they didn't originate there. The breed started in Northumberland, a place on the very border of England and Scotland. The breed can be traced back to 1915. However, the Irish Wolfhound originated in Ireland and is a very ancient breed. In 391AD the Roman consul Aurelius wrote “All Rome viewed with wonder the seven Irish Wolfhounds that I got as a gift.” Over the centuries there are many mentions of the Great Dog in Irish literature, he was known as Cu, Gaelic for hound, wolf dog, war dog.Only kings and nobles were allowed to own an Irish Wolfhound by Irish law. Foster, this is why I say, "Nothing is more Irish than an Irish Wolfhound." I too love the Border Collie...very smart dogs and also hardworking..but they did not originate in Ireland.

@tamaracarter18363 жыл бұрын
@@bonniea8189 I think it’s due to the relatively young age of the property (it was built in 1842), and the buildings initial use (to house ‘staff’ for the Loughgall Estate - therefore designed without a great deal of interior ‘decoration’). To me it looked characterful enough, at least within the kitchen and living room anyway; with those fantastic leaded windows and original wooden floors. Speaking of being “claustrophobic” however, my initial reaction was actually how open I thought the house looked for a building of such tiny proportions! Although perhaps that has something to do with the fact that I live in a half-timbered building in England that was constructed in the early 1400s, and am very used to extremely low beamed ceilings, doorways/ windows designed for hobbits and a complete lack of anything resembling a 90-degree angle... Anyway it’s the price we pay to live in such amazing buildings, and I personally wouldn’t swap mine for the world.

The image 15 sec in is not in Ireland! It's in the cotswolds. Been there and am about 98%sure

You are correct. It’s “Castle Combe, Wiltshire”, in the South-West of England not Northern Ireland.

2:17 what the hell is this? That editing is rather unsettling; it feels like you deliberately scared me with the chucky doll so you could take a picture of my reaction???

Beautiful house but not tiny! I live in a studio flat and I was: she has a kitchen! And a living room! AND a separate room! 😂😅 Also, I can't even have a chihuahua here 😭 So jealous! And lastly, love the Cucky! 😍

I was looking for a comment like that! I've started to think that I'm crazy, thinking this is a lovely sized space. I live in studio with my partner and our cat. Recently we bought the flat that's in build right now. It will be 65m2 and it's considered as size for whole family in my country. :p

@@OniSiaPL I know right! I actually felt jealous of all the space she has! 😜 I have a video on my channel where you can see how tiny my flat is. Basically a room 😅 Congrats on the new place! 🎉 Hope you're very happy there 😊

What a lovely house tour. I’ve been following Rebecca on Instagram for years and she shares the best photos. I can certainly understand the appeal of living somewhere so naturally beautiful (and in such a unique house), even if it is quite remote.
