I find it quite amazing that winter does not stop construction in Canada.

That would be one big bite out of the working year in Mid and Eastern Canada if winter brought things to a halt ! Most work can press ahead, but some things, like asphalt work, have to take a break. Days are occasionally lost if conditions become unsafe - but construction crews are both hearty and hardy.

Sorry about that, Gary - I'm falling back on a routine established during coverage of the Third Crossing. Viewers liked to be able to expect an update over breakfast on a Sunday morning and the dock work is gaining pace as the end of Phase 1 draws closer.

Has there been any hint as to when this project will be complete?

I am not aware that any specific timescale has been set. It should be borne in mind that bringing this new ramp into service will only be Phase 1 of the overall project. The published plans call for the existing ramp to be extended as well. Work that can only begin once this Phase is complete and the current terminal and ramp can be set aside.
