I feel your moment. I just finished a family project for my nephew’s graduation. Im running on two hours of sleep before getting a plane from New York to Atlanta. I’m in the clouds from exhaustion but like you, im happy to do it. And no youre not in over your head! Use stencil vinyl instead of permanent vinyl. Then it will be paint instead of vinyl and it last forever and don’t have to worry about peeling. And it seals unlike vinyl gets bubbles when you seal sometimes. Hope that helps.

For the light switch have you considered an outlet remote switch? They sell them on Amazon and basically it's like what people use to be able to turn on and off their Christmas trees. Basically it's a special outlet you plug into your existing outlet, and it comes with a remote so whatever you plug into it you can now control with a remote. Hope this helps.
