I use pecan mulch when my Dad goes out to harvest pecans every year, he has tons of leftover shells. I don't buy mine. However, I have learned that ants like it if there are leftover pecan bits stuck inside the shells. They will move into your garden given the chance. It took me all last year to get rid of the ants. Black pepper and orange peels really helped get rid of them. Great job on your garden. Thank you for sharing.

That's a lot of asparagus! Now the waiting game...it would be so difficult for me to not pick a few spears here and there! I can't wait to see your next update and how things are growing. It is getting warm in a hurry in D-town and it won't take long for the transplants to settle in and take off. Happy growing!

Are you going to do a garden in the middle of the yard? I know its your new house but that just seems very limited. Nice beds you have done.

Gary H maybe one day. We actually have a good amount of space for everything we want to grow.

Hi I have a question I thought pecan shells or high in acid. I just want to make sure before I use some in my raised beds.

pat smith Pecan shells may be slightly acidic. But we have very alkaline soils and water here.
