That's an ambitious tie replacement program that CPKC has lined up for the Cascade sub. I noticed ties set out from Ruby Creek to Spuzzum. Tie gang will be busy. Where are the outfit cars parked?

It's pretty common for those old GE units to smoke like that, definitely doesn't mean anything is broken or wrong with the unit. They don't call them "toasters" for nothing.

hogger notched out the rear DPU to shove the rear of train up and over the hump at Choate. He will kick it off after 1000 ft.@@thompsonriverrailfan
